Shanna_redwind | 852 comments I read this book in the mid 2000's, but it was from the library so it could have been a bit older. I'm pretty sure it was part of a series.

Earth has been invaded by aliens and they have captured pretty much the entire human race (at least in the area where this was set) I think they wanted them for slaves and perhaps food as well.

One scene I remember is the female main character was travelling through a roadful of abandoned cars. I think she was a member of the medical profession because she was going through the cars and taking the first aid kits to amass the best medical kit she could.

I think she became a memeber of the resistance, and I think she was captured at some point.

The aliens were insectoid and their reproduction was basically cloning themselves. Sometimes the ofspring would go wrong (I think one was sympathetic to humans, but not sure) and would be destroyed. Not sure if the cloning was a natural process or scientifically done.
There was a definite hierarchy to the aliens with the lowest levels less intelligent then the higher level generals.

Shanna_redwind | 852 comments Thanks for the try, but it's not that. I'm pretty sure the aliens just came and conquered, with no deception.

Shanna_redwind | 852 comments I'm not sure, those could be it. I'll have to find them and let you know. Thanks for the suggestion.
