Book Covers - do you like characters on the front?

I have an image of the main characters regardless of the one that's on the front cover. Sometimes completely different in fact. I think covers are there to attract the attention of people that are maybe more visual.

It's only when the reader has read the book that s/he will have an image of the character. You see the cover first. I'd rather imagine it myself though.
