Jassy Jay | 15 comments Hi there booklovers ,

I couldn't find this kind of topic anywhere and I'm not so sure if I put it in the right category...

Anyway I have finished reading Psycho (Robert Bloch) last night and I am again facing the problem to decide which book I shall read next.
I have more than a thousand books. (own a E-Reader so I kind of started going crazy in buying e-books and sometimes they are for free... help ^^)

It would be a way too long list to just post every book I own but I thought maybe you guys can just try to help me find a book to read next.

If you find yourself facing the same problem feel free to comment here ;)

Have a nice time reading =)

Jay.

Jon (jon17) | 82 comments Hi Jay,
Please tell us about your preferences :)

For example: favorite books/authors/genres

Jassy Jay | 15 comments Right I forgot.

Well hard to say. I've always liked horror/thriller. But I also read lovestories, chick-lits. Basically anything that sounds good :s
I don't like the vampire romance stuff though. Vampires should be creepy and not loveable lol

Just recommend any book without looking at my favourites or books I've read etc.

Thanks :D

Silvia (silviasaintgold) I would recommend to you anything by Jeffery Deaver, he's a great thrillers writer. :)

yep

Petra Jassy, you may enjoy some of Matt Ruff's books. I could recommend Bad Monkeys and Set This House in Order: A Romance of Souls.
A book I can't recommend enough is The Sparrow. If you enjoy some sci-fi (no robots; just planetary exploration), you might enjoy this one.

PS: I have family members who live in Koln. Beautiful city (from the little I've seen of it).

Michelle Hofacker | 14 comments I am like you with the thousands of e-books.
I would suggest the e-book "Endurance" by Jack Kilburn.
I got it from Amazon when it was on sale. It is a horror story that is really creepy. I couldn't put it down for the first time since I was a kid found a book that made me want to look under the bed. Endurance: A Novel of Terror

Mari Sloan (marisloan) | 15 comments Why not read a light-hearted one next that we can finish quickly and laugh? What about "Women Who Run With the Poodles"? I remember liking it, laughing, and getting it in Kindle format for not very much on Amazon. The author is Candida Lall Pugh.

Mari Sloan (marisloan) | 15 comments I went to Amazon to get the link and realized that its only review was a one star, VASTLY unfair, so I stopped and reviewed it, too. Anyway, I liked it! http://www.amazon.com/Women-Who-With-...

It's only 99 cents.

Mia | 49 comments if your looking for thriller/horror I recommend misery by Stephen king, actually most things written by Stephen king I would recommend. I recently read perks of being a wallflower (which I loved) or if its romance you want I really enjoyed the host which although cheesy had excitement and sci fi.

message 11: by Vic (new)

Vic (nukebubba) The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, by Alan Bradley. It is the first in a series of detective stories that takes place in a small town in England in the 1950s. The protagonist is Flavia DeLuce, a precocious eleven year old girl with two elder sisters and a morbid interest in chemistry, especially poisons. Despite the fact that the main character is a child, these stories cannot really be described as children's books. They fit in the "cozy" sub genre of mystery, and rival Agatha Christie or Janet Evanovich mysteries.

Jay try reading an Evan Connel book like Mr. North or Larry McMurtry"s Last Piicture show or Sin Killer. Very pleasant reading.

Kristie | 5929 comments If you haven't read classic Stephen King, you should read The Shining, not only is it creepy on it's own, but there is a sequel, Doctor Sleep, coming out later this year.

message 16: by Patrick (new)

Patrick Gibson | 2 comments Yes The Shining was great and what was doubly spooky was i read that one summer in Dillon Colorado for a cousins wedding in a spot not unlike the Overlook hotel. My sister says i should read The Stand or It next.

Kristie | 5929 comments Yes Patrick. Both good books and worth a read. You can always count on Stephen King for creepy. :)
