M.L. Stewart | 2 comments Hi,

I recently opened an author page and have 3 books not showing due to the fact that the author name is ML Stewart as opposed to M.L. Stewart.

Any help is more than appreciated.

Regards,
MLS

Jeffery Rudell (jeffrudell) | 7 comments I am author of Paper Blooms (ISBN 978-1-4547-0350-1). When the ISBN of my book (which was just released April 2) is entered in Good Reads, a different and incorrect title appears BUT with the cover of MY book.

The title that appears is Modge Podge Rocks by Amy Anderson. The correct ISBN for that title (according to Amazon) is 978-1-4547-0241-2.

You can see that the error is in the last four digits.

Of course, with PR and marketing for my book, Paper Blooms in full swing, I am eager to have this correction made as soon as possible in your data base.

Susan Rodgers (susanrodgers) | 17 comments Hello librarians,

I have a request that I may be able to fix myself but I'm not finding how...pardon my naivetee...it's just that on my author page my second and third books are in the wrong order...might not be a big deal but once the third book is released I would like to make it as simple as possible for readers to sort out the order in the series. Would you mind either reversing those two OR letting me know how I can correct this myself?

The correct order should be:

A Song For Josh
Promises
No Greater Love

Thank you!

Susan A Song for Josh by Susan Rodgers

The list of books on the author profile page sorts by popularity (times shelved by users, combined with average rating). There is no way to change the order manually.

Jeff -

Since no one has shelved the ISBN ending in 50-1, I went ahead and updated it to reflect the information for your book.

It's worth noting that the information was imported from Ingram (which is a large book inventory system that catalogs such data) and WorldCat has the ISBN listed for both Mod Podge Rocks and Paper Blooms (see here). It may be worth double checking with your publisher to make sure they didn't reuse the ISBN or somehow get the wrong information "out there."

Jeffery Rudell (jeffrudell) | 7 comments Dear Vicky:

THANK YOU. I have passed along your comments to my publisher, Sterling Publishing, and they will follow up with WorldCat and with Lark Crafts. Thank you for correcting this so that readers can now add and review my title. You are the best!!!!!!

Jeffery

As Rivka already mentioned, the order shown on your author page is stricly by popularity on goodreads.

But, did you mean these books are supposed to be in a series? If so, we need series title, book order (and [optionally] a series description).

They already have a series. I just moved over the stray edition.

Jeffery Rudell (jeffrudell) | 7 comments Dear Vicky: I wrote above about a mis-numbered ISBN on my book Paper Blooms. I now discover that typing "Paper Blooms" will NOT locate the book on Goodreads. Visitors to the site have to KNOW and TYPE the title PLUS the sub-title in order to find this book. No one is apt to know the sub-title (that's why it's just a sub-title.) Can the book be listed just as its title "Paper Blooms" and rather than "Paper Blooms: 25 Extraordinary Flowers to Make for Weddings, Celebrations & More" (This is ten words, two numbers, two punctuation marks, and one special character! No one should be expected to know all of this and to enter it exactly in order to find this title.)

Thank you to anyone who can help me with this.

Jeffery

Banjomike | 5166 comments I think there might be a general problem with searches at the moment. There are a couple of threads concerning books not being visible in searches and I've just looked for "The Lord of The Rings" and not found that specific title. Wait a while and see what happens.

Jeffery Rudell (jeffrudell) | 7 comments I am continuing to have an issue with Paper Blooms (see above). The book does not show up when that title is entered into Goodreads. The timing is particularly bad since the book JUST came out and the publisher's PR efforts have specifically asked people to post about on Goodreads. What action do the librarians suggest I take to try and resolve this matter today, before the weekend? Anyone?

Thank you,

Jeffery

I removed the subtitle. Not sure if that will help, but give it 10-20 minutes and let's see.

(Searching by ISBN is finding the title, so this is especially perplexing.)

Jeffery Rudell (jeffrudell) | 7 comments Thank you Rivka for your prompt reply. I will give it an hour or so and check back. I appreciate your help with this issue. I just started using Goodreads myself and was so excited by it. This issue had dampened my spirits a bit but the value of this Librarian group has me once again singing its praises. Fingers crossed that all will be resolved soon.

Thanks again.

Jeffery
