Kindle (App Copy/Paste on Win8) issue

I hope it is the correct place for this kind of messages.
I use Kindle to read in English in order to improve my proficiency. I had Windows 7 and used to copy expressions and paste them in a word document. I moved to Windows 8 and with the Kindle version for it I am no longer able to copy/paste text.
Does anyone know any solution for this?

Sorry I don't have Windows 8. I suspect it's some "improvement" made to help copyright holders prevent copying.

There are two kindle versions available for windows 8. The new Kindle app and the old Kindle program working in desktop mode. Have you tried the old kindle program?

Otherwise, if it's a short expression the best would simply be to type it. When trying to copying longer sentences/paragraphs/expressions, I once tried to "search for it on google", and than just copied it from the google search box.


I use win8, but even though I have a touch screen for my laptop, I still prefer desktop mode. (Why have an app for all the kind of stuff you can open in a webpage in desktop mode?)

Thanks, I will check what version I downloaded (I did not know they are 2 flavors
