"I grew up in Louisiana, but my mom decided we'd move to New York when I turned eleven for her job as a journalist. Quite different than what I was used to. She was hardly ever home, and I can promise you no protection is just as bad as too much. It was just the two of us. My parents got a divorce when I was seven, but my dad died two years later in a car wreck because he was drunk. The best day of my life was when my satyr showed up." Anna smiled.

"oh, that sucks, I mean I could say I'm sorry about your dad, but I never liked people saying that to me, my mom abandoned me as soon as I was born" he responded smiling back "the thing I don't really get is, you lived with your mom? like the goddess mom?"
"Oh, no. The woman my dad was married to. He cheated on her quite a bit whether he was sober or not, and Aphrodite contributed. I loved Danny like a real mother and she loved me in her own distracted way, and it was better living with her than Daddy Dearest." She shrugged. "It sounds bad, but I really didn't care when my dad died. I never was close to him. And about your mom, some people just can't handle something like a kid. Sucks for her, because you turned out pretty cool."
"I know, I'm like the best person ever" he said grinning "but, I have to admit you're pretty cool too, you can be the second best person ever if you want"
Anna rolled her eyes and laughed. "It's a great honor. But I have to face the fact you're just too amazing."
"you will get used to it" he replied winking

"I'll try," she said dramatically.
"I'm glad, so, are we going to feed Java or what?"
"Oh, yeah," she said. She opened a bag of feed and dumped it into the bucket. "There. Done."(( Sorry if that's completely wrong. I dunno anything about feeding horses. ))
"easy" he walked to the bucket with sugar cubes and took one "are they eatable? like human eatable?"((me either :P))
Anna popped one into her mouth. "I hope so, because I eat them just as much as him."
"great" he said eating one "because I love sugar"
"Seconded." She pet Java's nose and turned back to Chuck. "Your turn to pick the place. All done here."
"okay, so let's go to" thinking a little "The forge? I'm working on this super cool... clock, actually is not super cool, but I'm trying to make it cool, one of the Apollo kids asked me to make it for their cabin"
"Let's go." Anna grabbed the crook of his elbow and started walking.
