Gamal Hennessy How will Amazon's purchase of Good Reads impact independent publishers? http://t.co/TfdFGaDOT3

If you've published books through CreateSpace which is also owned by Amazon, I would expect that your book icons which are currently based on ISBN numbers would click through to Amazon.

Bridget | 16 comments Given that GR took down my books that were exclusive at Amazon, and removed the cover from a book on sale at Amazon, B&N, and Kobo, I expect things to look up a bit. Amazon knows about putting readers together with books, and that's a good thing for indies, I think.

Bridget, why did GR take down your books and from where? How did they remove your cover? I'm new to GR and don't understand what you're saying.

Bridget | 16 comments After GR's disagreement with Amazon, they removed half a dozen titles from my author page--books that were exclusive with Amazon. One book remained, that was available on Amazon, B&N, and Kobo, but it has a generic Goodreads cover that doesn't exactly recommend it to new readers. They also continue to list my out-of-print paperbacks.

This isn't about me--it's about the fact that Goodreads isn't designed for authors, and doesn't make it easy to find particular books. I think it's possible that Amazon's leadership in discoverability may help that.

Thank you for sharing that Bridget. Amazon's goal is selling books so I expect they will be more supportive of authors on GR. I have three books on Amazon I'd like to be able to sell through more outlets like GR.
