Sue I enjoyed the book so much. I thought that the first scene with Travis as a lil boy was super and had my crying..then you got to see more of his relationship with his dad/brothers that you didn't get in the first book..I liked that he talked with them about Abby when you didn't know that in the first one. I loved his relationship with Shep more and how they interacted regarding their relationships with the girls. It was really cute/sweet! It was just a great book..sure it wasn't like the first one but then I didn't expect it to be. Loved the epilogue too! Overall I was a happy camper...sorry to hear so many were not.

Completely agree

Christine I was disappointed... My daughter asked me what I expected. It was after all the same story only from Travis pov. I did know that but thought it would have somehow been different. Did however like the epilogue.

Betsy I guess I feel differently. It's not supposed to be a new story. This book was exactly as advertised - the same general story as Beautiful Disaster, but from Travis's point of view. I actually thought it was an excellent POV study; McGuire did a pitch-perfect job of paralleling Abby's story, skipping scenes that were entirely Abby's and interjecting a few new scenes that were entirely Travis's. The epilogue was brilliant - how wonderful to see them as productive adults with a happy family! The fact that the epilogue skips ahead rather dramatically is sort of the point... it's not another chapter of the book, it's an 'epilogue' - a flash forward. Wonderful.

Did u notice the mistake made while writing about the fight they had at the Red for Halloween over some guys buying drinks for the girls? There's this line that says "Shepley put his hand on Travis's shoulder"... Which makes no sense, considering the story is been told by Travis. That proves what you said about copy-paste.

Emily Yeah I didnt like it all that much either I just thought it was because I already knew what was going to happen

I wanted to see the night at the Red when him and Sheply were pulling guys away as well I was so mad when I realized it wasnt in this one!

Yeah, I wanted to see that one too! It was so funny when I read it in Beautiful Disaster, I was disappointed also!

Megan I REALLY wanted to see the Valentines (was it then) day when they went to The Red and they were yanking the guys. I even wrote that in my review! I also wanted to see where he went to get Abby with her date with Parker to watch his fight.

There was also a lack of connection in this novel. Trent was the only person I felt like I knew more but Sheply, America, Abby and even the other brothers I felt like I knew more in Abby's story.

The book did seem a bit rushed and so freaking repetitive! It felt like he did nothing when they broke up, or when she was gone... other than drink to just black out of course. She should have wrote more about the semester break. Pretty much all Travis did when not with Abby was to 1) go talk to his dad about Abby or 2) drink to forget Abby. This was the fist HIS POV I've read but I don't think this could be a stand alone. I feel sorry for anyone who picks this up first.

Travis could also go back to school with his kids to learn some more adjectives.

Deborah David Warpedmind wrote: "I wasn't disappointed. I expected the story to stay the same but in Travis POV. That is what the author said at the begin. I love Travis Maddox in BD and this book. But if I read this book before B..."

l agree. I think the book was exactly what it promised to be. I'm usually hesitant to read these 1.5 sequels, but after reading the sample I was hooked. Of course it was less intense because he's a guy and they don't usually over-process or over-analyze and I think that was well played. You felt he was torn up over their difficult moments (you felt it in BD, too), but you also got to see what his rationale was for his actions. Epilogues are always difficult in these type of stories, but again, it felt right. No way did I want Travis to continue the drinking and underground fighting, and his chosen profession (don't want to spoil it for anyone) is practically the farthest you can get away from that lifestyle. I love JM's style so much, I would definitely read a spin off of this story.

Sky Rose Reviews I was extremely disappointed with this book. I loved Beautiful Disaster despite my better judgement and this book just reminded me of how off my judgement really was. Travis is an ass and Abby is a whiny little girl, they are in a relationship filled with drinks, violence and passion. The sex is good but in the end that is all there is and that ending.... if my eyes were capable of rolling back into my skull they would have done it right then and there.

Olivia Gould I waited a long time for this book to come out, but I didn't expect disappointment..I thought it was pretty much the same as beautiful disaster. REFUND!

Jessica. I caught the inconsistencies between BD and WD. I haven't read through all the reviews, but I did comment when someone said it was flawless because it wasn't. I also felt there was too much copy and paste action and even saw one instance where the pronouns weren't changed. I knew the was Travis' pov, but we got too much of the same dialogue and not enough inside Travis' mind.

message 65: by V (new) - rated it 4 stars

V I was slightly disappointed with WD. Although I loved Travis' POV it lacked depth to me. It felt rushed. Plus I really didn't like Abby from his POV. Made me wonder why he loved her so much. I loved the epilogue. Nice to see that they actually made it.

Angie Arrington The epilogue was great, but I felt that there is so much more that could be written getting to that point. How was he approached? How did the case lead up to where they are? How did he feel keeping it from Abby? What did Abby think he was doing? ...see where I am going there is so much story left untold now.

Brittany The epilogue was worth the read. I was disappointed when it came to "being in Travis' head". I felt like he just wasn't letting us in along with reading the same thing that happened in BD. (And I understand it's supposed to be that way). I was just disappointed we didn't get to understand him the way I anticipated.

message 68: by Lori (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lori owen I really liked this book yes Travis skimmed over alot what happened in beautiful disaster but still loved his pov.
Would love to read more from Abby and Travis!!
Xx

Yvonne Travis is/was an intense character. I was expecting more intense reactions in his telling of the story. Good but I would have preferred more intensity because frankly, I think he was a little crazy!

message 70: by Beth (new) - rated it 4 stars

Beth I agree that Travis was an intense character and three ways from crazy, but I loved that the author took the challenge to bring the character to life. She made us believe in this character and his over the top emotional state. His character reminded me of a lost little boy.

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

my only problem i have is that she isn't writing any more travis and pidge.

i really want a least two more books. one for there first year of marriage, the other to explain travis undercover and to meet the children they have.

i have to be honest and say i couldn't care less about the maddox brothers books, don't get me wrong i loved there characters but not strong enough to warrant there own spin off books. even knowing pidge and trav show up in them isn't enough for me to part with my money and buy them as i would only read the pages they are in not the rest of the story

i don't get why she won't write more about them. i know i'm not alone in wanting them. the books are popular, as are the characters and they sold very well.

give us what we want!
more trav and pidge.

Martine I enjoyed Beautiful Disaster. But I was disappointed by Walking Disaster. I guess because I started it immediately after... and it felt like reading the very same book. I guess I'll wait a few months and try it again.

Melissa I was diappointed but not because it was BD from Travis's POV. I was disappointed because the scenes I would have liked elaborated on weren't and the ending was too cliche for me. I enjoyed Abby's viewpoint more.

Melissa Jessica wrote: "And lastly: Did you guys catch the inconsistency between the two book, of how Travis found out about Abby and Parker going out on a date after Travis and Abby have sex for the 1st time. Did you guys catch any more??"

Abby did go on a date after Travis and Abby had sex. It wasn't inconsistent.

Heather I enjoyed this book it explained a lot of Travis's actions in BD. Through out BD I had moments of this guy really needs some psychiatric help with his obsessiveness. But in this book I saw more clearly how she gave him a lot of mixed signals and how his insecurities came out in the wrong way many times. I will say that this book was much harder to read emotionally speaking than BD. Travis seemed to have so much emotional turmoil underneath that only he could really fix.

message 76: by Lex (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lex i was also disappointed :((

Jessica Melissa wrote: "Jessica wrote: "And lastly: Did you guys catch the inconsistency between the two book, of how Travis found out about Abby and Parker going out on a date after Travis and Abby have sex for the 1st t..."

I wasn't talking about the date itself, but how Travis found out about the date.. In Beautiful Disaster, Travis finds out about the date from Abby, but in Walking Disaster he finds out from America

Angela Haigh I really dislike it when a book is re written from a different POV. Once written leave it alone. I bought this book as a follow on and it was not a follow on at all. Fist book I really enjoyed though.

message 79: by Elena (last edited May 16, 2014 07:14PM) (new) - rated it 1 star

Elena this one bored me... it was like reading the same book over again... most parts are literally identical copy/pasted dialogue....

Maria I wasn't disappointed at all. But I went into the book knowing that it was the same story only in Travis' POV, so... of course the same story would be told. It was nice and enjoyed getting Travis' side of things that we didn't see in BD. The extra scenes and filling in the blanks of what was going on with Travis was nice to see as well his thought process.

Erika Maria wrote: "I wasn't disappointed at all. But I went into the book knowing that it was the same story only in Travis' POV, so... of course the same story would be told. It was nice and enjoyed getting Travis' ..."

I loved his POV also. I knew I was going to read the same story. I especially liked the New Years Scene and the scenes with Trent. I liked how Travis tells Trent he's never felt like him if he thougt someone could take his mind off of Abby. I think Travis is perfect I don't really want Trent's story.

Miranda I loved both books. Boyfriend pre-ordered the newest one for me! :) Can't wait to read it!

Billie No I love this book but wish there were more.

Madel i'm not disappointed.. i loved Travis POV.. but i wish there were more too..

ׂ╰┈➤ Sarah I'm sad this is the end! ):

BUT BEAUTIFUL OBLIVION! <3

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, it was really disappointed. It's sad because BD was perfect. Seems like Abby and Travis changed their roles: Ebby was so badass while Travis was too sensitive(( And the epilogue of the book i didn't even read.

Agreed...But then why would you give it 4* ... In my opinion, that just gives a false impression for people looking for honest reviews....

Taniya I feel the same way. There was too much of the first book in this read.

Jennifer I loved Walking Disaster. Its my favorite from the series. I loved reading Travis POV and I love the cover of the book. It is one of my favorite book covers.

message 94: by Mel (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mel I loved Walking Disaster too! It was Beautiful Disaster from Travis' point of view and I really enjoyed it! I think that Jamie McGuire captured Travis' thoughts and feelings perfectly. There was more of an insight into his family and how they functioned as a unit, and how they readily accepted Abby into the fold. Also, loved the book cover!

message 95: by Thuy (new) - rated it 2 stars

Thuy Luu If you are looking for something new that will impact you in the same way as Beautiful Disaster did, Walking Disaster is surely not that. It's simply a recreation in a different character's point of view. I wasn't disappointed because the author's goal was just that and she accomplished it.

message 96: by Nelly (new) - rated it 1 star

Nelly I was more than disappointed , it was the same book, the same scenes, perfect replica... I read Bully (girl POV) and Until you (guy POV) but the latter is a different story with new *gasp/OMG* moments, not just a guy telling what we already know from the 1rst book...

message 97: by M (new) - rated it 3 stars

M Liu kinda disapointed too, it started out ok, there were some bright points, but reading it again has just kinda lost that feel u know?

Shirley This book was a total dissapointment. It was supposed to be in the POV of Travis but it didn't bring anything new to the story. I felt it was basically the same book rehashed.

Shirley I was disappointed with this book. It was supposed to be all in the POV of Travis but I found it was just the same book rehashed, there wasn’t anything new added to the story. Very poor version of the male POV, other authors like Penelope Douglas have done it so much better.
