Suggest a book for our May Group Read!

Well, I could really use some help getting through The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. It's supposed to be an awesome book; it has a 4.5 star rating here on Goodreads. I just can't seem to get into it. However, I usually try to read the group reads, so that would help me.


I will come up with a couple other ideas too =)

Sorry I've been inactive for so long. Life has been super busy.

Jon - It's been awhile since I have even picked up my Kindle, but I think I was at like.. 6%? Or something like that. I had barely cracked it open. It just kept putting me to sleep which is a rare thing.

The Name of the Wind was good - you should give it another shot when you're in the mood.

Have you had a chance to read other books?

Not really. I re-read Harry Potter. Haha.

Whenever I'm at a low point in my life, which right now I kind of am, I read Harry Potter. And I think to myself - life would be much worse if Voldemort was real and not just a character from the genius mind of J.K. Rowling. And somehow, that makes me feel better.

I'm going to get back to reading though. Are we doing a group read next month?

The next book I'm planning on reading is The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks.

You're right about Voldemort - our world has more than enough evil people.

I don't know what we're doing next month. Nitzan is too busy traveling the world! Just kidding :-p

Have you ever read Robin Hobb's Farseer books?

That's what I think it will be like. And I LOVE those books. One of my favorite series of all time. Assassins make interesting characters. =)

We can do a buddy read, if you are interested. I've never done one before so I might suck at it. But I'll give it a shot.

I haven't read Robin Hobb yet but I want to. I heard good things about those books.

Buddy read sounds good. And don't worry, it's not possible to suck at buddy reads, just write whatever you want.
When do you plan on starting it?

Next week sometime. I just ordered it today, so I won't get it until this weekend. And with it being a holiday weekend, I'm not seeing myself reading much until Tuesday.

So.. I'll probably start it on Tuesday. =)

I don't think you will be disappointed if you decide to read Robin Hobb.

ORANIT || CROSSED LINES— KINDLE.
This groveling plea may be shameless, well a wee bit bashful, self-promotion. Having founded and been very active in Oranit since it was just a glean in the builder's eyes, I decided to write a novel. It could have happened, but it most certainly did not.
However, it is about Oranit, it tells a story of intrigue, murder and even more. And above all, it is a love story. This is a story of my deep love for Oranit.
Being a retired but very cynical 'shrink' with a Leeds sense of humour, I think some of that shows in the writing.
Come on guys, give me a break— I'll pay for the coffee. Nevertheless, someone has to be first. So will you review ORANIT || CROSSED LINES, please.
