Alex (alexgmcm) | 41 comments Hello, my name is Alex and I am an alcoholic.

But seriously, I'm from England and am just finishing my Masters in Physics. And so I am a full-time student and have no job (or really any life outside of my thesis at the moment :/ )

I enjoy reading a wide range of books from sci-fi and fantasy to history and science. Outside of reading, I try not to fail too hard at programming, guitar and German. And browsing cat pictures on Reddit.

Ashley (icecheeseplease) Haha quite the intro! Welcome, Alex! I think that it is likely that many people here spend more time on r/aww than is healthy, but then again, what's more healthy than adorable animals?!

I hope your thesis goes well, I don't even you for that (especially in physics, eep!) and I hope to see you around the boards if you have a few spare moments!

Alex (alexgmcm) | 41 comments I see you guys are reading Dune - that's a pretty awesome book. I've never heard of Fool though - it looks kind of odd :P

I would join the discussion on Dune but I'm not sure if I can remember it well enough to contribute!

As far as Dune, any input at all is welcome. Feel free to join in at any time!

And Fool, it's kind of odd but it has roots in Shakespear's King Lear so it's not -all- wacky nonsense :)

Alex (alexgmcm) | 41 comments Ah, fair enough! I haven't actually read any Shakespeare... although the BBC version of Hamlet with David Tennant and Patrick Stewart was pretty awesome (I mean it has Dr. Who AND Captain Picard, come on!)

Fool is turning into a fast read, so it shouldn't be too much work, but feel free to join us at anytime :)

And welcome!
