Riddle Unravelling ~ Test Your Skills
Well it's two words, so it can't be Pride and Prejudice. It's probably a classic; she tends to choose books that are well-known.I'm stumped thus far.

Very good break-down, Poppy!

Keep at it everyone! You're all doing well, although no one has touched on the correct answer just yet.

No, it's not a classic book (in the sense that classic = older + well known). It's more of a 21st century novel, which is very well known.

Does "The" count as a word? For example 'The Maze Runne'r could be called Maze Runner instead (that's not my guess, it's just an example).
Lady Poppy sent in the winning answer!
It was a particularly hard riddle, and you all did a brilliant job of guessing which book it was.
The answer was: (The) Hunger Games!
First word: The first, man may suffer stabs from,
Internal though they be.
People can suffer from hunger pains or pangs, which are internal.
Second word: The second, ignites man's drive,
Ending in loss, or jubilee.
Games ignite a person's drive, or ambition. Games either end with a person losing, or winning.
Together, they speak of liberty lost,
And of freedom won at any cost.
The Hunger Games is a story about people losing their freedom/liberty and fighting to win it back, despite the odds.
Poppy, you will be receiving your prize ASAP :)

Gosh. All these riddles are haaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrd.
♥ Innocent Lamb ~ Forever Reading ♥ wrote: "Gosh. All these riddles are haaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrd."Agree!!
Yeah but like I never would've guessed the answers.
I knowwww. They're so hard. Why can't they be easy? Because they're riddles. :(
Inno, I think you'll get the hang of them eventually :) Almost every time, the riddle is solved by someone new. Maybe Miss BN will post one that clicks with you! (That wasn't meant to rhyme, by the way)
Doubt it. Worst riddle solver ever.
Hey, I thought I was the worst, too, until she posted the latest one. I happened to be thinking about mockingjay just then, so it clicked. You never know what will happen!

I've heard that one a gajillion times.

Me too!!! But the only real reason I know the answer is because I've heard it a million and one times already. LOL.
Lady Poppy wrote: "Lucinda - [spoilers removed]"Oh, i see!! {I probably come across as rather dim-witted at the present moment}.
"What on Earth" was just an expression i used - another way to say i was confused. I didn't mean it literally!
Thanks for the explanation x
H99 wrote: "I know it's an expression. :) I was joking. Sorry, it doesn't come across well online."I always try to be careful not to become too relaxed when "chatting" {or perhaps i should say typing} when online, as it could come across altered to the reader/ recipricant.
:)
H99 wrote: "I've noticed that. Your posts are usually a tad more formal than everyone else's."Oh! Sorry :) *chuckles*
I think it's cute how formal you are!And you're welcome! You don't appear dim-witted at all, don't worry. I honestly doubt anyone guessed the answer correctly their first time hearing it (without someone giving an answer and explanation after).
Riddles...reminds me of the part in one of my favourite stories, Alice in Wonderland when the Griffon asks Alice Riddles...then the song about Turtle soup *sighs* how i love Wonderland!! :)

I love reading Alice in Wonderland. But I constantly feel like the entire book is just one big riddle. ;)

I've heard that before, but I don't understand it. H99, could you explain?

Isn't the answer something like: (view spoiler)

Hahahaaha... I suppose I did. xD
Here's another riddle! Guess which book title it is?!
The first two people to message me via GR with the correct answer will receive one of these two books: either Fracture Me by Tahereh Mafi or Olivia Twisted by Vivi Barnes. The winners will get to choose which one they wish to receive.
Now for the riddle:
Civic by nature,
An informal burg,
A centre, a hub,
Filled up with curbs.
Osseous its master,
Its foundation, its strength,
Shrouded in secrets,
Compact in its length.

Question: is there a limit of guesses we can make?
@Lucinda - It does look hard.

Not at all! Feel free to guess as many times as you like, if your first answer turns out to be incorrect :)
