I Am Number Four

The second of our books for April is I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore. Remember to hide spoilers when commenting!

I've already read this one as well, so I'm excited to see what you all think!

Read it before and wow it's good. It's one of the few books that's ever made my cry (I've got a shelf of them), because of when (view spoiler)[the Mogadorians kill Henri (hide spoiler)]. Sam's one of the best sidekicks ever, but it's hard to believe that he would accept that (view spoiler)[John and Henri are aliens (hide spoiler)]. I guess he must have been really desperate for any answer or semblance of logic about (view spoiler)[his missing dad (hide spoiler)], but that's not what it seems like in the book, at least to me. He seems to have more closure. Six is awesome, but you learn more about her in the next book. Great writing, (view spoiler)[the Legacies aren't too cliche sounding, even though they're basically superpowers (hide spoiler)], and the characters are well developed, for the most part. Sarah could use a bit more depth, though. It definitely made made me want to finish the series. I can't wait for the fourth book, (The Fall of Five), it's killing me.

I saw the movie before I read this book, and (don't kill me) I liked the movie a lot more. I did really like the book, but the characters were kind of flat in some parts. I liked how there was a lot more back story in the book, but I just really liked the movie characters. That was also a few years ago and I haven't reread the book recently though.

I think the premise of this series is really interesting. I enjoyed reading it and the two books after it.
