WriterBenjamin | 25 comments Which is better or cheaper. I bought the Kindle version for $7.99 intending to read it on the Kindle and was offered the Audible version with Whispersync for 3.99 more. I listened to the entire Audible book and never even used the Kindle version. Would it have been cheaper just to buy it on Audible?

What is everyone else's opinion?

Vicky (librovert) | 52 comments If you have a Platinum subscription for audible and use a credit, it would be cheaper. Otherwise you saved money buying the Whispersync version.

You paid $11.98

A monthly platinum subscription comes in at $11.48 /credit and a platinum annual subscription comes in at $9.56 /credit.

If you have a gold subscription or don't subscribe to audible, you got the better deal.

AndrewP (andrewca) | 2667 comments From my own experience I've often found that buying the Kindle book and then Whispersync offer is cheaper than an Audible credit. This is especially true if the Kindle book is on one of the deal sections, or even free. Yup, Whispersync still gives you the discounted price even if you got the Kindle book for free !

I have been meaning to join Audible for 2 years, but cannot get through the backlog of audiobooks that I have got for less.
