Bwwahahahaha yes, ShoSho and I are a dangerous combination. And yet, Goodreads let's us mod a board together ;) Robin and Claire, sorry to hear y'all aren't feeling well. My allergies have been getting the best of me lately - but everything is so green now, I don't want to complain :)
I've got all my errands done and Lauren has swapped our menu so we're having chili dogs and fries before she goes to play practice. Easy peasy. So lots more reading time today. Oh! And I don't watch tv too much either, Robin :)
I've been asleep for less than 8 hours and there are more that 30 new messages:D Girls you've been very active;)Now let me read them
Comments on topics in these past 30 something posts:I'm Australia GMT +10 and it's 7:20 am here .
I agree with you all smaller group means more participation and talking . I felt lost in the first round too.
Hey Cathie , welcome :)
HhaaAhaaA Susan , are we frisky and rambunctious?I don't know. But some days I wake up on my naughty side ,today it's not one of those days though !
WE LOVE YOU TOO LK :X
Claire wrote: "I hope none of you are in/near/have friends or family in Boston, watching the News coverage of it."That was horrible I saw the breaking news when I was having my breakfast . My uncle lives near Boston , I don't they have been there but I have to call him or send him message to make sure they are good
I was happier this morning than I am now. I've managed to get a headache :( It's supposed to rain tomorrow and that's probably why. I'm not sure though; it's GORGEOUS outside right now. Anywhooo, dinner's done, Lauren's gone (final dress rehearsal for Blood Brothers, it's senior night tomorrow, off Wed and open Thursday), so I'm going sit in my favorite chair and read. I'll be around check in a little later :)
Kme_17 wrote: "Hi guys my name is kim (kme_17) glad to be i the group with you."Hi Kim, Welcome to the group!!
Yay! Everybody's signed up for the challenge, just one more to come find us in the group :)
I'm off to bed now, night everyone (or morning:) )
Hi Ladies...It's midnight here and I should be off to bed because I have to be up for work in 6 hours LOL I made it to the dr appt and he is letting me go back to work YIPPPPPEEEEEEE!!!! So after the dr appt I had to drive to the next town over (35 miles, where my job is) to turn in my dr excuses and see what my schedule is and to let them know I was released to come back to work. After that I had errands to run & then to wal-mart for some necessary food/household items. We didn't get home till around 8. Been a long day :(Right now it is 12:13 am on 4/16: I probably won't make it back here until around 6 or 7pm my time (US CST) to check back in. But I hope you ladies have a great day and get lots of reading done. I should be finishing up a 2-3 more books in the next 24 hours LOL as I am still plowing through all these books I started last week.
**waves to Kim** HI!!!! Welcome to the group ☺ Nice to meet ya!! Look forward to seeing what good books you are reading and chatting with ya!!!!
Really glad you're feeling better ♥Robin♥ :) I'm hoping I'm well enough to go to work at the weekend, as well as the lab, I work on ambulances occasionally and I have to be fairly healthy for that!
YAY! Robin feels better!I'm going shopping with my BFF today, but I'll probably finish the book I'm reading before she gets here LOL
The good kind lol Jennifer needs to go to the pet store and I suggested the dress shop by there and target :)
Hallo ladies :)I hope you're all having a good day :). We're currently on 15 books and I believe we are the most chatty group at the moment :) (and we're one of the two smallest!!)
Just want to warn you I may not be around too much tomorrow and Thursday, I'm going to have to be in the lab tomorrow daytime and then until 1 on Thursday morning :( But I will be back!!
What do you do in the lab, Claire?I'm having a great day! Shopping with the bff was fun. We ate at a Japanese restaurant. One of those that cook it for you in front of you. We were placed with four good looking men too ;) We also went to the teacher/school supply store and imagined everything I'll buy for my room in the fall LOL
I'm doing a Masters of Research/PhD 4 year stint screening for compounds that may have some effect on mitochondria. (or that's the plan at the moment!)Mitochondria are the parts of the cells that make the energy the body uses from food and oxygen and when they go wrong it causes loads of different problems from neurological to things like diabetes, deafness, blindness etc, really not nice. I'm hoping that I might find something that would help to treat a mitochondrial disease.
I hope that makes sense!! At the moment I'm working with cells and seeing what happens to various parts of the mitochondria when you add drugs we know affect them. Unfortunately, that currently involves a 72 hour experiment with the 'food' being changed after 36 hours, hence the late nights in the lab, I was in both days last weekend.
I also sort of volunteer/get paid to work for St John Ambulance on ambulances covering the local ambulance service when I have some free time, think I'm working 18 hours out of 28 at the weekend, but I love it!
Are you a teacher Susan? What do you teach?
And what does everyone else do?
That does make sense. :)Yes, I'm a teacher and I just accepted a new job for the fall. I'll be moving back home to Louisiana and will be the assistant teacher in a kindergarten class.
Good morning, I'm staying at home today with hubby, he probably won't let me sit and read but I'll try.
I'm an electronics engineer and I work as an electronics lab supervisor . it's a full time job with flexible hours so instead of working 9-5 I work 7-3pm .
Yyaay Susan for having a great day: )
Yay! It's really hard with science to know what different people know about different subjects! When I was an undergraduate, I had two different taxi drivers ask what I was studying (Human Genetics). The first knew what it was and we had a chat about it, the second didn't so I explained it was looking at inheritance and the response I got was 'what, like money?'.....
I don't have to work really late tonight :D Yay! I was told I could change the experiment a little to make it better for me :)Hope you're all well today
YAY for not working tonight! So far, I've managed to be off all week, so that means another walk this morning and then reading in between cleaning. I need to sweep and mop today - YUCK
Hi Team!!!I managed to get 2 more books finished today and working on a third.....wooohoooo!!!!! I did go back to work BUT I am still getting my reading time in ☺ I'm taking my kindle to work with me and reading during my lunch hour lol. The weather is getting nasty here again...it's drizzling rain now mixed with sleet and supposed to snow AGAIN alllllllll day tomorrow. Which is ok as I'm off so I plan on spending the day reading and finishing up some more books. Hopefully I will knock out all these started books by the weekend and they won't be hanging over my head! Then I can start with something fresh and new ☺☺ as I have lots that I can choose and WANT to read. I hope you ladies are having a great week and reading and enjoying lots of good books. I'm going to make a post of what books I have read from April 12th-April 30th just to make easy for you all to see what I'm reading ☺

Morning! Eeep. It is just about to turn midnight here. I've got to get some sleep. However, I am enjoying my company, lots! We spent a 1/2 day at a spa. Lovely.

Therein lies the joy of a global community :) Everyone's around at different times :)
Sleep well LK :)
So I've updated it over my cup of tea this morning. We have 23 books read so far :) And looking at the last updated version of the team stats, I'd say we're holding our own for a small group :)
Hello ladies I'm almost done with my book only the epilogue is left.I plan on reading a book with only 162 pages, I think I'll finish it tonight.
Robin do you really follow your list? I never do, I plan and everything but something else catches my attention and I end up not reading the planned books

I sometimes try and plan what I'll read depending on the challenges I'm doing (although they've slipped by the wayside now, too many at once I think!) but I generally don't stick to the list!

I'm like ShoSho. I don't follow a list well. I do plan for my challenges, but lately I've had trouble getting them completed (the shorter ones). There are just so many books I want to read and I have to switch it up. I can't read two or three historicals in a row or they start sounding alike lol
ShoSho wrote: "Robin do you really follow your list? I always leave a little leeway for those unplanned books because they always slip in LOL
