Hmmm, not sure.Yes, to on foot and yes to a futuristic transport, sort of.
Everyday is about a body leaper, goes from one body into a different body every day. It's his way of transportation. But it is also a beautifully written love/romance story.
Pure, as one of my friend's puts it is definitely one of the creepiest and darkest YA dystopias I've read so far. Lots of gore and very graphically written; I wasn't expecting that level of inhumaness and brutality.
I might put Pure down as 'foot' transportation then. And I suppose if magic portals are ok, body leaping might be too.... I'll put them there for now. :)
so, we still need a S America book? I'll read
next. Most of it takes place in Honduras during a mission :) I'll finish up Australia today too :)
Yes, Pure would definitely fit in foot transportation.body leaping is magical; a portal into another person's soul :-)
If you don't mind Susan, that would be great, then ShoSho doesn't have to worry either :) I got a bit distracted from reading today, my sister tok her girls cricket team 'on tour' this week and she's just got back. Her team won every single game they played :) (Sorry, just had to share lol!!)
Congrats on your sister and her team winning! And I'll get right back to reading as soon I finish entering grades in the gradebook.
Thank you. :)I'm back to reading now! She's already in bed as she's absolutely shattered. But the girls had a great time and she enjoyed it too :)
Cathie wrote: "How do you read 2-4 books in a day Robin??. Really, I am interested and intrigued!"LOL I'm a fast reader. Normal for me is having about 15 books going at one time. I read a little bit from 2 or 3 everyday so I finish them pretty quickly. If I am up doing chores or on the computer I have an audio book going. Otherwise I am either reading a book on kindle,on my computer or an actual real book. Since I have been sick and not working I have a lot of free time. I'm usually ALWAYS home. Therefore I spend my time reading to avoid boredom LOL
I have a girlfriend that I swap books with and she reads faster than me. She speed reads. I can give her 5 or 6 today and she will give them back tomorrow.
Wow that's incredible Robin! You're friend perhaps more so. I wonder if she is able to remember anything about the book if she reads that fast?!
Claire wrote: "Oh, definitely not complaining Robin, just sort of staring in awe!! lol. You just may end up having to read the most for the challenge!! :)"LOL That is ok....I have lots and lots of books to choose from :) IF you read 3-4 books that are about 170-200 pages long that is about the same as reading one 500 page book. So that is another way to get more than one book read in a day. If I read a 500 page book then I normally don't get more than two read in a day.
Me and a friend were talking about this just the other day--Why is it when we have a "chunky book" to read it takes us forever to read it but we can read 2 or 3 books of 200 pages really quick? It's psychological LOL
Karen wrote: "Wow that's incredible Robin! You're friend perhaps more so. I wonder if she is able to remember anything about the book if she reads that fast?!"Yeah, she's unbelievable. Yes she remembers because we generally always discuss the books when she is done reading them. From time to time I will ask her about various books and she can tell me about them and give me her opinion. I must say she reads much faster than me and she amazes me.
Just finished
(which has a whole section about Antartica books I didn't know if that counts or not),
(which could go for the summer category) and
We're near enough 75% of the way finished for the August challenge but there are 9 books that have been read that I have no clue where to put. They're all in the last column. If you've got an idea, let me know! :)If Susan's got S. America covered, I've got a list of crime books I can read and 'inspiring' books as well and I've almost finished Deception Point, I've remembered why it's my least favourite Dan Brown book though!! :)
Thanks Claire, I found it after I posted it. Sorry, sometimes I have a hard time keeping track of where all the postings are and what all the challenges require.
Other Teams Challenge...is that where we have to read a book that someone else has read from another team?
Claire
could be considered 'inspiring' I guess. the main character does have a dream and wont let anything stop him trying to get it .

Yes, a book they've read since this Tower Team Challenge started in April. Our team is since January this year.
I've picked up on a few that were read by the people I have as friends but that's it. I might try and do some rearranging, see if I can fiddle things around a bit.

I've finished
which fills Arctic and I'm now onto a crime one :)

Cathi..."
Is there a way to see what's on other people's shelves; a common spreadsheet of all the teams members, maybe or some other way?
I'm sure someone else in this challenge has read Everyday, it's just a matter of finding someone. Also if we could see what other's have read, it may help when picking books, knowing when they fit in.
If you go to the team allocation spreadsheet... link to follow when I can get GR to work again! ... you can look at most people's books shelves, you just can't see what everyone's read as a big list.I think the spreadsheet can be viewed from one of the threads on the 'Tower Teams Round II' discussion set but I can't check as GR is playing up and not letting me load it :(
Annnd of course, as soon as I posted that, GR started working again lol! The link's here:

It has elements of crime in it Claire, a cult, so i guess it could be catagorized as a crime type thriller. Thanks for the link (I know, Goodreads is being quite tempermental today)
Ok, got the uncategorised down to 6, possibly 4 depending on your answers!! :) So we're got 16 left to read. I've almost finished another so we'll be down to 15 at most by tomorrow :)Nearly there :D
My Mum was asking my how I could read so much and if I don't get lonely spending lots of time on my own. I don't, I enjoy the peace and quiet!! :)

Great! Thank you :) I thought it was just the computer I'm using as I'm not even getting Alice :( Just an 'oops' message!
Ok, cleared space for an 'N' book which is good, that one will be easy to fill, even if only from the other categories. I'm trying to make space in the spell out or '6' categories which I can always back fill if we get enough else where :)
Pout; I can't seem to find anyone on NBRC Tower that has read Every Day. If anyone hears that someone has read it, let me know. Back to putting on my thinking cap as to where this will fit in
Cathie wrote: "Pout; I can't seem to find anyone on NBRC Tower that has read Every Day. If anyone hears that someone has read it, let me know. Back to putting on my thinking cap as to where this will fit in"Don't worry Cathie, I did some rearranging (moving Always Watching to crime freed up a space) so I've fitted Every Day into there :)
Now got 63/75 read :)
You know, I sat there wondering if that would have anything transportational about it and didn't notice the cover!!! I'll update that tomorrow :-)
For the N that we need for the spell out category , does it have to be the title? or can you use a character name?
Claire wrote: "Kme_17 - Would you say
was inspiring?"It could be seen that way at least a couple of the stories- its all about love which could be inspiring.
More encryption puzzles are coming from this Captain of Pain.
You might need some help, or a bit of Novocain.
If you need a hint, for any quote or spell,
what letter you desire, be sure to tell.
Redeem a “Blinkie” cupcake you have earned.
Choose wisely, to help you decipher and discern.
Will it take only one, two, or three?
To set you on the right path, it’s such a small fee.
We don’t want those cupcakes to go to waste.
Consider logically where the “t” could be placed.
Or maybe you’ll want an altogether different choice.
It’s important, as there are no hints that have voice.
For the clue to be helpful, Captain Cupcake must know,
to reveal from the alphabet what you want him to show.
With each submission, be sure to make clear,
which letter from this Captain you want to hear!
See, we don’t want your cupcakes going to waste.
So tell us the letter for which you’d like a taste.
It’s almost like magic: a “Blinkie” for a hint,
to earn a “bouncing” or “Triple Threat.” That’s a “Blinkie” well spent!![]()
Claire:
goes under transport again. the whole book happens on different spaceships.
happens in autumn not summer. but I searched and Tower Team Blast Off Bronze > Mandy Beyers has read this one on July 22. http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/...
I'm also going to read
in the next few days and Mandy has read that too.I'm listening to
by Ilona Andrews for the I in the spell it out.
And as how to find if anyone in the challenge has read your book.Go to the group Bookshelf
Search the name of the book
Click on "view group reviews »»"
Open the Assignment spreadsheet
Ctrl+F the name of the people who have read the book and check their challenge and make sure they are the same person and there you have it!
