Atomic Tangerine
Gosh I can't keep up with the puzzles; last time I looked there were 20, now there are 25 and you have done them!! Woohoo! Thanks :-)I finished reading 2 books over the last couple of days:
Fire
(5 stars!! ~ I love this series. It counts towards as my book towards our theme :-) (#2 in the series)471 pages
Forbidden
(4.5 stars!)454 pages
Total pages: 2020!!! Way over my goal of 1400!
Sorry, I should have upped my goal when you asked Claire (and there's still 3 more days left in the challenge)
I reached my goal yesterday :)Cathie , I read a lot of reviews about forbidden , I don't think I can stomach the incest in it! but it seems that you really liked it.
It is a very taboo difficult subject to read about, but the author handled it with such grace and tact and just told the story. I had just as much problems with the mother and father and mother's boyfriend in the story as I did the incest topic. It is not a feel good story but it is a story that is written very poignantly.

No because in real life it is really yellow but shows up orange-y here LOL

Would you count Remedial Magic as the theme book?
ShoSho wrote: "I reached my goal yesterday :)"Yay!!! Well done :)
I was going to ask how many pages Reckless Rescue has but you've got more than the goal anyway :) Although, if you want to use it for the atomic tangerine challenge, page count would be handy :)

Yes ♥Robin♥,
was a very good read (Did you feel icky or guilty for reading it? I had a hard time explaining to my friends and people who hadn't read the book how good it was.)
Cathie wrote: "Wow Phyllis, what a huge book! Did you enjoy it?"Yes, I did. She is the Indian girl that was with Lewis and Clack on their trip to the west coast. Now I need to get busy reading Gone with the Wind, another 1000+ page book for one of my challenges.
Phyllis wrote: "I finally finished
. It had 1424 pages, so I am past my goal."Oh, I've been wanting to read that one. Beautiful cover. (From what I remember when seeing it in the store.)
3 new puzzles, I did 26 but haven't posted yet.I have to use the computer for 27 and my brain for 28 , they have to wait if no one is volunteering;)how long before the end of rat?
Cathie wrote: "Yes ♥Robin♥,

Back in the 80's everyone was reading Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews which a lot of people adored and had the same general theme of incest in it. So I didn't really have a problem with this book.
I have reached my goal and here are my results!!!!

I rated it two stars and don't know why I gave it that because it was more like 1 1/2 stars. I didn't really care for it, just not my kind of story. It was slow, boring and the first 100 or so pages was really confusing.I was lost and really couldn't figure out what was going on and still not sure I know. I am still wondering what the connection there is between the school and the car wreck...shrugging shoulders LOL This book has a lot of high ratings but I don't get it. There were two plots going on at the same time and both of them moved along boringly slow. The writing was very disjointed and there was no relationship between the two plots. It kind of wraps up at the end but IMO it shouldn't take 500 pages to finally bring a story together.Overall, I didn't like any of the characters, the plots were SLOOOOWWWW, no action and the story didn't actually come together until the very end. This is a book that I could of skimmed and been done with in 10 minutes and still would have known everything I know now. Under normal circumstances this book would've gone to the DNF pile after the first 30-50 pages but I needed it for my challenges LOL
Hmmm ♥Robin♥ maybe I will have to rethink reading this one...Sorry you didn't enjoy it; it's always frustrating to waste time with a book, especially when you have invested time and the ending doesn't fulfill you.

Well done Atomic Tangerine :) And I did survive, they were very well behaved. Except for waking up at 5.30 yesterday morning.... that wasn't so good!
Has everybody else had a good weekend?
Gosh, I totally miss it, so sorry. I corrected the spreadsheet will post the new results. Atomic Tangerine has 155 points and won 2 book advantage points :D
Yea Team Atomic Tangerine!! We may be small but we got the job done!! Woohoo! ~ you are the best teammates a person could wish for :-) Look at that will ya ~ everyone met their goal and read their cover and theme books - what a rockin good team! Thanks Claire for your awesome leadership :-)
Sonia wrote: "Gosh, I totally miss it, so sorry. I corrected the spreadsheet will post the new results. Atomic Tangerine has 155 points and won 2 book advantage points :D"Thanks Sonia! You did a brilliant job organising it, well done.
Have a cupcake from Atomic Tangerine for a job well done :)
Thank you Cathie, I couldn't have done it without such a great team :) Well done Team Atomic Tangerine :) We did it, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did and read some great books :)
I'm home!!! Great job with the RaT, Atomic teammates :) Claire, glad you had a fun time.
My interviews went well. Both principals said they were making a decision by Friday. The one for the 6th grade science/math classroom said I was the most qualified for the position out of all she's looking at. That sounds encouraging to me lol

Great! Good luck Susan. I'll keep my fingers crossed :)
I'd better head to bed I suppose, in the lab and flat-hunting tomorrow :)

Thanks Cathie!!! You might enjoy the book as it appears that a lot of readers did. I think the biggest turn off for me with this book is it was so confusing and took sooooooooo long for the plot lines to fall in place. It's really hard to read a book that is slow because that means it is usually boring LOL
WTG Atomic Tangerine!!! Everyone did such a wonderful job getting those puzzles done,theme/color books read and meeting your page goal!!! You guys are impressive ☺☺☺Thanks Claire for putting up with us and being a great Team Captain!!!
LK and Sonia: Thanks for a fun RaT :) It's been fun doing the mini challenges and puzzles!!!! You guys are AWESOME!!!!
Hope everyone's had/having a good day. Mine wasn't great, the letting agent rang this morning to tell me they'd taken a holding deposit from someone on the house I was going to look at this afternoon, a house I really liked the look at :( And then I got stuck in work as usual (I'm half tempted to take up residence!) To cap it all off, I went on an emotional roller-coaster ride and finished
!! Absolutely amazing, I loved it, definitely going to try more of her books.
