That's too bad. I was looking forward to Allegiant although it might be awhile before I can get it from my library due to holds. I remember agreeing with you that Requiem was not as good as expected for the last book of that trilogy too.
I need something to wipe this off my mind. I will go eat some ice cream and watch the chipmunks with my kids. I need a freaking pause from books today:(So mad, stomping feet mad.

I guess I can start it tomorrow instead of Maya Banks. I can read stand-alone this round and Maya can go for next one :D

This has me thinking of hiding in the bathroom at my sister's house to get the last few pages of a chapter read before my niece sees me reading and wants me to read with her instead.
When she was little, as soon as she saw me pick up a book, she was at my lap with a pile of her own books wanting to be read to for hours(literally 2-3 hrs in one sitting sometimes when I was babysitting). It was really hard to say 'No' to her little pleading face. Even now that she is 9 and has been reading for herself for several years, she still doesn't let me read my own book for long. She wants to read her book to me instead.
My sister credits me (and the hours upon hours I read to her since she was a baby) for her reading skills when her teachers always gush about how far ahead of her age group she is in reading. My sister says she is going to end up like me when she grows up. But, except for her love of reading, she is my sister's mini-me, in looks and temperament.
I love hearing stuff like that. Reading helps their vocabulary, comprehension, imagination etc.Keep listening to her read. Mine love books too. I have some of their books on audible so we can listen in the car...but I have to buy the actual book at halfprice books stores so they can hold it and follow along.
When I got my first ereader(I think my parents were tired of me asking for bookshelves as presents), my niece was only 6 but she used it more than I did to read books. It took me a long time to get used to not having an actual book in hand. She does have a great imagination. Maybe she will grow up to be a famous author and I will always have something to read. :)

Hello HobbitsSince this month there won't be Mod's challenge, do you want us to do something? Or you want to take a break and just read?
We could go for that page game we had before - you get 10 points for books 160-250 pages; 1 pt for 251-450 & 5pt for over 450pgs
If you want something 'real', let me know and we'll think something up.
Can we do something like Spell out of Veteran's Day; ThankgivingOr even Funfacts:
Read a book for the color of birthstone (topaz--which comes in many colors actually).
Read a book set in November-ish time (or has a thanksgiving theme or winter theme) for the zodiac signs Scorpio (October 23 - November 21) and Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
The birth flower is chrysanthemum. Read a book with a flower on the cover
Peanut Butter Lovers Month : Read a book with a brown cover
National Good Nutrition Month: Umm, don't know how to work this one
National Sleep Comfort Month: Read a book that you want to curl up in bed and read
Aviation History Month: Read a book where the MC gets on a plane or flies a plane etc
Election Day: Read a book mentioning a president, dictator, leader (fiction or non-fiction)

November Challenge

There are two options. You can play one or both. Your choice.
Also, you can choose how many books you want to read.
Option 1
Spell-out word you associate with November, like Thanksgiving, Veteran's Day, All Saint's Day, autumn,... (If you need inspiration, check thinks under Option 2 ☺)
For spelling you can use first word of the title (if title starts with the, a, an, you can use second word), authors firs or last name, series name or character name.
Option 2
Birthstone for November is topaz. Read a book with topaz colored cover. Color options (view spoiler)
It's November! Read a book with November-ish theme, or thanksgiving theme, or winter theme.
Zodiac signs are Scorpio and Sagittarius. Read a book that reminds you of those signs. (They are on the cover, character in the book is one of this signs, character shows some traits associated with this signs,...)

National Good Nutrition Month: Read a book with nutritionist, where someone eats healthy, or even where someone likes to eat. To make it easier, you can read a book with some kind of food on cover (just don't use fast food, please. It is good nutrition month :P)

Another one bites the dust..finished Ender's Game last night and started Speaker for the Dead as well. I believe with the completing Ender's Game, I am 2 away from achieving my 10 book goal. YAY!!! And for the GoodReads 2014 Challenge I am 1 away for a total of 15..just to say thanks for helping me challenge myself..
*wipes tear*I'm so proud of you Dee!
Don't forget few of those books were huge (King?! - I think we got 2 bonus points for that one ☺)

This round Rowling is our submission. And we can earn only 1 BAP for this time. We'll see with what will ninja come up next. Every time ninja shows up, we can earn BAP.
We are only one so far that have BAP. Other teams still don't have match :P

So far on my must have list for November (aka written in calendar) are Shock & Awe and No Good Duke Goes Unpunished. Rest are when they get to library (if they get there).
Ok I started The seasonal reading challenge this round so I kinda have books planed. But so far I didn't really stick to it. I read what I'm in the mood for and then look where I can fit it. ☺
And now most of the reading depends on the die roll :P
I do have plan to finish Monica McCarthy (2 books left), Makenzies (1 book), Psy-changeling (7? books left) and I need to find another classic to read (I won't count Persuasion since it's going to be reread). Oh and need to finish A Game of Thrones
And I want to continue Diane Fallon series (mystery - Dead Guilty)
Forgot to mention: continuing with Dresden files :P
But nothing from above has to be read this month. *shrugs* I'll read it when I get to it.
