Cerulean (AKA “Hobbit Blue”)

No one has done any of the Captain Cupcake puzzles from 134 on yet. Feel free to do any of them. I have been doing the puzzles, but I don't want anyone to think they can'..."
Just so we aren't duplicating efforts. I will do #135 & 136.
I like the Spot the Difference ones because they require less Brain effort.

LOL

What did you think of Chet the Jet? :D"
thought it was hilarious! :D I have one more Agatha Christie book, but haven't read it yet. LOL

LOL"
That's sad, huh? Well I turned them in (Puzzle 135 & 136)

What did you think of Chet the Jet? :D"
thought it was hilarious! :D"
I just noticed that's 3rd in series. You're skipping! :P
I love him. How he gets easily distracted. Starts telling one thing and ends up on something totally different. Especially if food is involved. :D
*which reminds me I wanted to google Slim Jims*
I recently finished 4th and looking for little break in 'planned' reading so I can go to next one.

Nope. Not sad. They are getting little time consuming. :P
You do what you like, and we'll cover rest of them.

*I love Slim Jims. :D

welcome back. Driving is exhausting!!

Duration: Oct 4th - Oct 19th
There are 2 games.
1. Read-A-Thon
2. Book Hunt
Teams can choose one or both options.
Rewards (for each game):
1st Place:10 BAPs
2nd Place:8 BAPs
3rd Place:6 BAPs
4th Place:4 BAPs
5th Place:2 BAPs
- that means if team plays both and wins 1st place in both, they get 20 BAPs
I'll give you summary, but you can find it more detailed here.
Our thread for your notes and progress is here.
And
As always, if you don't want to participate, you don't have to.
Read-a-Thon
This time it's based on pages read during RAT. Book doesn't have to be finished to count.
1. For starters, you'll need to make a goal - estimate how many pages you'll read during that time.
2. You'll have to write down page numbers of books in progress when RAT starts. Only pages read during RAT counts.
Example: Starting The Count of Monte Cristo on page 957.
3. Next, you'll have to give us daily update on your progress.
Example: In last 24h I've read 675 pages of The Count of Monte Cristo.
4. At the end of RAT, again write down page you've stopped at.
Exapmle: Stopped reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on page 354 (What?! I'm done with Monte Cristo :P)
- In case of ebooks and audiobooks if there is no page number, give us percent, and we'll calculate pages (somehow ☺).
Calculating points:
*This is 'fun' part.* ☺
At the end of RAT, all our read pages are added and then divided with out team tower goal to get ratio.
Team with biggest ratio, wins.
(Of course, only those from participants counts.)
Halloween Book Hunt
There are 10 themes. Each team needs to choose 5.
This task will need lot of read planning (sorry Ezi, I know you hate that! :P)
Reading themes is progressive: 1st theme - 1 book, 2nd theme - 2 books,... ending with 15 books at the end. We don't have to read them in order, only TC and me need to report them that way.
To make things 'easier', after finishing each theme, we get a clue that brings us closer to our treasure (and final points).
Team that finishes first, wins.
Themes:
1. Classic Horror
Read classic horror books like Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein or Bran Stoker’s Dracula. Or, you can choose the modern revamp of old classics like Pride, Prejudice and zombies.
2. Masters of Horror and Fantastic
Read a book from a master of horror and Fantastic like Stephen King or Dean Koontz, or if you prefer a more lighter approach, like Neil Gaiman or Terry Pratcher.
3. Samhain
Read a book that focus on Celtic/Gaelic traditions like Beltane, Samhain or other rituals, or somehow fit the meaning of Samhain. (I'll get that explained in other thread)
People also took steps to protect themselves from harmful spirits, which is thought to have led to the custom of guising. Divination was also done at Samhain.
4. Trick or Treat
Let your inner child on the loose in a trick or treat spell-it-out challenge. Suggestions: the perfect costume, the sweets, the pranks, the kind neighbor, the scary one. Surprise us.
5. Face your Fears
Read books about things that scary you - urban legends, ghost stories, spiders, spider webs, murders, even elevators or planes, is all about your fears.
6. Hallow Places
For this option, is all about the setting - Cemeteries, dark forest, haunted house, the asylum, Dracula's Castle
7. Halloween Party – a Spell-it-Out challenge
Use your imagination to create the perfect party item: the beverages, the food, the decorations, the theme, the music
8. Supernatural Creatures
The title is self explanatory, read a book that has witches, warlocks, vampires, werewolves, zombie, ghosts, spirits, poltergeist, anything counts.
9. Halloween Cover Hunt
Read books with covers matching Halloween colors - black, orange, red - or Halloween themes - pumpkins, skulls, etc.
10. Special Abilities
Read books with characters with special abilities - fire power, magical powers, sending the dead, flying, weather manipulation, visions, time traveling, etc.
If we play game 2, we need to choose themes and decide their order. We'll also have to know who's going to read what. That way we'll avoid mistakes and save time. Did I say that team that finishes first, wins?
______________________
Now it's up to you. ☺
If you want to play, tell me what game (or both) you want. In case of Book Hunt, tell me themes you'd like to play (all five of them, not just what you'll read. And if possible, their order. ☺)
If choosing spell-out options, give us some ideas. ☺
As always, we'll go by most points.
Any questions?
*fire! I'm ready. I think. :P*

I have been wanting to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, so I could read that for Theme 1 if we chose it. I also have Blood Rights waiting for me, which could fit into several categories I think(Theme 5, 8, 9)
I don't usually read very many scary books, but I think I could read a lot of the spell out since they can be any book as long as the letters match.

No, I will play both, but Book Hunt is the only one that requires me to plan what I read. I am going to aim for 3000-4000 pages, like I did for the last RaT.

rat 3500
themes, I think maybe do 1,2,4,7,9, or 10? Words I have no idea of one way or the other.

As for second part I know I don't want to read 1, 2, 3(?) ☺
Books I plan to read:

Of course! Just took some books from my October Starter Plan :D

Also I have a non-challenge related question. I am reading book 2 of a 2 in 1 book so can I just add the second book or do I need to swap them for the edition I have?

Just give it as often as you can.

Let's see if I understand you right. You are reading bundle, right? And asking if you need to tag bundle, or if you can tag separate books?
If I'm right, that's up to you.
If it's important to you that you have your read book on your shelf, tag bundle. If you want to now titles you've read (and get numbers up ☺), tag them as separate.
Example: I have The Lord of the Rings in one book (it's ebook, so it's not that heavy :P). Since I usually have breaks between reading each of them, I alway tag them as separate books. Then there is Engaging The Enemy. They are two books in one, but I've read them as one so tag them that way.
