Then I started reading ebooks and number just started growing. I had more books to choose from, more authors, more genres, so I just started reading more. Not to mention that I didn't have to go to library every few days, or to wait for the book to come. Things like that slow down reading (at least for me).

Dee, my 'summer thing' is shadow in the nature, something to sit in, cold drink or ice cream and book. I'm too lazy for anything else. :D
Just tell us when you have game and we'll cheer (from different parts of the world and different time zones, but who cares!)

That sounds pleasant as well. I love me some ice cream..HA. I have games every friday...this coming friday my game times are 700 pm Eastern and 900 pm

I read so many books because I am a fast reader and don't really do much else in my spare time. I am single and live alone, so when I am not at work(and sometimes at work since I work in a library) or visiting family, most of what I do is read. Although I have a NOOK, I still prefer to have the actual book in hand.
I like to do things at home mostly: play board games, knit, crochet, cross-stitch, watch TV(crime shows). But I also like to take bike rides and go to plays at our community theater.

I'm on holidays, so that means two weeks of pretty much just reading. Like Turtlecollector, I do prefer reading hard copy books over ebooks, preferably paperback but I do get ebooks when I'm too impatient
In the summer I am part of the school's rowing club, I usually row a schoolgirl quad.
Softball isn't really big in Australia, mainly cricket and soccer

How to "Refresh" a Member's Total or Add a Comment to Their "view books" Screen:
We are using ♥Robin♥ on Atomic Tangerine for this example:

• Scroll down to your friends, who are listed first, or down futher to "community."
• Click on either the percent numbers or the words "view books" (red arrow)
• You can enter a comment on this screen (blue arrow), if you desire, or wait for the next one.

• On this screen you can see her total books jumped from 2 to 4.
• If you click on her name (blue arrow), it will hyperlink to her Profile page.
• Pink arrow shows comments by other members.

• If you hit the back arrow to go back to the community page, you'll see she is back to 2 books; just refresh the page.
• The Total goal for all participants may take anywhere from 15 - 30 minutes.
• The cache usually updates every night sometime after 9 p.m. PST.

@Karen - you said you finished a book, but you didn't put it on your shelf for this challenge.
@Ezi - going through your read shelf, you have 2 books that can count for this challenge (Forever and My Liege of Dark Haven). Every book finished on/after April 12th counts. :D
That's it for now. :)

Reading a couple of books currently, but had a slow weekend so that was a slight disappointment. Hope to catch up during the week.
Looking forward to having a good time chasing the goal for Round Two.

No problem about your reading. I'm dragging few books myself (need to find some quick reads!).
Could I just ask why you lowered your goal to 50? Did you lower your yearly goal or just for this challenge? We need your yearly goal (no matter how many books you've already read or will read this year). For now this challenge is going to be year long (till April 2014)

I don't want to be sued for stealing ideas, so I'm going to link you there. ☺
Please do it quietly so they don't know we are using their tactics. :P

No issues though. Will revise my goal to 60.

Anyway, mods are thinking about lowering goal we are trying to reach, because current one (1350) will take to long :D

My sincere apologies, Sanz! Totally an error on my part. Please leave your goal at 50; it helps balance the Team number better.

Maybe subtracting the books already read up till the start date from our goals? Looking at it, 243 was my goal at the beginning of the year, not from April 12th onward. :D

New feature coming: link to member's "view books" screen. Blue font indicated there is a hyperlink, as member joined sucessfully; black indicated no hyperlink, as member has not yet done so.
Remember, you can hyperlink to member's Profile from that screen.

TEAM UPDATES
If you don't want to go from challenge to challenge but still want to know the other teams' results we set a Teams Sunday Update Summary Spreadsheet - Who is in the lead?
Happy Readings!

Plan to finish today:

Hope to get a good start on:

A rower--that's pretty awesome. The only rowing I've ever done is in the gym..BORING!! :) I also tried soccer and I liked it because it was great cardio, I'm not that good at that sport but I'll try any sport at least once. I would love to be on a 2 week hiatus from work. But in order for me to read for that whole 2 weeks, I would have to leave my house and go somewhere tropical where I am REQUIRED to do nothing. :)

I love that post as well.

We would keep you updated weekly, so you wouldn't have to. Unless you wanted to know changes on daily base. :)
Our spreadsheet has something similar. Just not updated yet. :)

Looks like Lisa Kay has new idea. --> link
Any volunteers? :D
We should start practicing, do some workouts,... things like that.

Good thing we're not Dwarves otherwise sneaking might be a bit difficult

I'm not changing my avatar! Lisa Kay would never speak to me again! ☺

Double agent!?!
No more pipe weed for you Hobbits until we discover culprit!

I have a couple of books on my currently reading tab from last week, but I haven't actually started them (ie. shadow kiss by richelle mead), will they still count towards this bookshelf?
i plan to actually begin shadow kiss on Wed.

Yes they will. Only finish date counts. Anything finished on and after April 12th is OK.

I must admit, I was sneaking into the teams' captains chats for ideas before the team threads were opened. Now I guess I may have to continue that over here as well:)

*whispers*
Be careful! There is this owl in leather jacket that sees everything :D

LOL. Nothing wrong with dwarves.

I know. ☺ Especially this one. (Ask LK if you don't believe me. Or Karen when she stops by.)
Suddenly I want to watch The Hobbit again. *sigh*
