Started and finished Sh*t My Father Says today. It won't count for the Team Tower challenge but it counts towards overall yearly goal. Also started Wild, today.

If you need some examples how those things look like:Bingo
Monopoly
Snakes & Ladders
Round the World with Nellie Bly

I enjoy it. On the Lost Challenges, we play Scattergories and it was fun. I have also played Yahtzee.
But I don't know how to play chess, so I can't play those kind of games :)
I had to google Scattergories and Yahtzee. :D I love those! I've played few Scattergories in the Lost Challenges, but I tend to stay away from monthly challenges since I'm not planner. (Of course there are exceptions ☺)So far I'm between few ideas:
- Board game like that Nellie Bly - I would create board based on Hobbit/LotR travels
- Monopoly - I love that one!
- Risk (or actually spin off) - each player would get certain number of territories and by reading certain book would advance to next one. There wouldn't be losing territories (because I'm not sure how to make that possible at the moment ☺) 'Winner' would be person with most territories at the end of game period
- Battleship (spin off) - by reading certain books we would be looking ('sinking') for items from books.
All of them but that post was specifically for the August scattergories. I should have hit reply first but I am on my phone on my lunch break. I have never tried Risk as a book game. And that sounds interesting.
I could make all of them, but I don't think there will be enough time to play all of them. ☺ Unless we do it all at the same time.I found LotR Risk board and that gave me idea. It would be mix between Trivial Pursuit and Risk. Instead of answering questions you would need to read a book to 'win' next territory. Any suggestions about 'losing' territory? I don't think page count would be fair.
I like the ideas of Scattergories and Round the World.I haven't played Risk and had to google it, but that also seems a good option.
Maybe we could set up 'find a book' challenges (e.g Find a book with a green cover, and the letter 'J' in the title) and anyone who can't find one within 48 hours would lose territory?
We would have to organise things so that it is fair for everyone, including those who don't log on frequently. We would also need to rotate through members to help think of challenges, otherwise Captains would never be losing territory :D.
Just a (very complicated) idea...
I am not sure where I left off updating my books read anymore in this thread. So here is the list for June so far. They are added to the June book list on the spreadsheet.
I am trying to finish 2 pink books this weekend (still reading):
Hello team!I won't be doing weekly update today. There was a lot of moving members around this week, and some teams are in process of moving/re-forming. Honestly I'm to lazy today to track that down, so I'm going to do it tomorrow when I can/will shamelessly use Mods update to inform you of our status. ☺

LOL. Sounds like a plan
Hello team!
As you know, few days ago we were almost done with 7% challenge. All we needed were few pink covers. We are still missing those covers, but we have enough books to finish another category (7th I think) and switch it for pink cover category (2nd).
Since most of teams are finished or close to it, there has been a talk of doing challenge one more time, or getting cupcakes for any additional category done.
We want your opinion. Do you want us to switch and post books and categories we already have (and then continue hunting for pinks in case there is second round)? Or do you want us to stick to original plan and wait until we find and read three more pink cover books?
Finished

I am posting them on the challenge thread for a mod decision just in case. Are you reading it or listening to it?

Yes, Ezi - both have been approved by mods on challenge thread. That was a faster response than I expected.
Thank you Tea!I am listening to Never love a Highlander, and I'm 2/3rds way. I needed a break from Georgina Kincaid. But I need to finish that one this week
Mods have decided...August challenge will last for whole month.
And since 7% challenge was too easy, we need to read 75 books in August challenge to get points.
Are we still going with Scattergories? Any other ideas or wishes?
We could borrow model from Lost challenges group (with their permission of course). Thing is I can't see reading 75 books for it.
example
Ricorda Maggie Rose[book Along Came a ........Spider|6948141]Along Came a Spider
..............TICKLE PINK .JENNY :)

more letters? or lots of letters & more general type questions? How complicated does this challenge have to be?

Well, you could do like Pewter Blue is doing, making some of their books fall into certain categories and the rest fulfilled by doing a "spell-it-out."
Then you could, say, play Scategories for 64 books and "spell-it-out" for E.N.D. O.F. S.U.M.M.E.R. - or whatever.

@md - In case you haven't learned yet, all the books on your shelf right now will count. There was a final ruling on the last 2 in question yesterday.

Finished a pink cover
. It was a 4-star. Love that series!!!!I am reading another pink book
.How many more pinks do we need?
With the one you just finished we have 5 pink books. I will have one more finished today, so we still need 1 pink book.
