Cerulean (AKA “Hobbit Blue”)

Your lucky to have them at your library! Paperwhite is a lot, well, whiter then my old kindle keyboard, and there is higher screen contrast.
Of the ones at your library, which do you like best? (Paperwhite was the only type in stock at the shop I visited)

Actually, this is only part of the big book, that this publisher split up in 3 pa..."
Are you reading them in 3 separate books or do you have the big book? I think it is up to you.

I wasn't sure if someone had checked my shelf and added it since it was already tagged.

I gave you Melissa's book.
We are putting in spreadsheet only books you've finished. And after you post it here or it shows in challenge under view books.

My Sony :D It was love at first sight.
I'm not sure if I would call it lucky. Since there is no interest for them, Kindles are mostly locked in drawer. Powers that be aren't really interested in them. There is no way for library to buy books for them and there is no way for library to loan them to users. So far Kindles have Project Gutenberg books on them and can be used only in library. As far as I know I'm the only person using them and that's because I'm helping librarian to figure them (and ebooks) out. People do come in and ask about loaning ebooks, but we don't have that yet here. And, as things are now, we won't for years. :(

Both. That new publisher decided to translate books to more modern language (at first), so I bought 3 books and borrowed 1 to see what's different. (*what can I say, I'm nuts ☺*)
I'm thinking 3 - it will look better in out challenge than 1.

'Here's to you Rachel Robinson' and 'Radiance' need to be removed from the challenge page on the spreadsheet, and the Hobbit games needs updating to 3 instead of 5. I'm waiting to hear back to find out whether my read total is 4 or 6

Karen, I liked it and rated it a 4. I took off one star for the adult situations and content because I think that the author was going for children, but overall it reminded me of the Old Grimm's fairy tales with the content and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland for the head spinning situations. I did find it hard to understand at times though. :D
Here is my review of it:
I really loved this book. It reminded me of Grimm's Fairy Tale, not the Disneyfied ones but the adult versions. This book had blood, pain (physical and mental), hardship, heartbreak and didn't make adventure look all that fun. The little girl learned something about herself and about life. I did not appreciate though some of the things the girl "September" drank throughout the book.
Saying all the above, I do not recommend this for children. This book is more for Young Adult to Adults. I know that if I had read it as a child, I would have had nightmares. I had a very active imagination and when watching something like "The Last Unicorn" I had nightmares about the bull coming through our house after me. :D

I saw someone on another team just read Wait for you so it can count towards enemy's bookshelf

Finished:

We will figure out where they fit for you, Melissa. I will be catching up on the spreadsheet later today.

That looks like fun.

Well, that centaur is more like faun - part Hobbit, part goat :)

Let's show them what are Hobbits made of ☺"
I am going to have to back to her older books to do this. I have been very good with my New Year's Resolution of not reading any books I have already read. It is June and so far I have only re-read one book. Temptation is very hard to overcome and I have coworkers helping me keep on track. I work in a library and if they see me with a book they know I have read, they make me check in right back in. (My own bookshelves however are calling to me...I can see 4 Nora Roberts books from where I am sitting right now)
I thought this resolution would help me get through my TBR list but it just keeps getting longer anyway.

LOL! I love that part :D
I've read mostly her romantic suspense books. Romance were usually too sweet for me. Than again, later books seemed like recycled old ones. I have last two on reader waiting to be read, and there are all those paranormal series. And MacGregors. And... she writes too much! ☺
@Melissa - nice review! Maybe I should go back and try it again at some point.
My review: I thought I would love this book and I really wanted to. I just kept on waiting to get drawn into the story and the fairy world, but never did. I can't put my finger on why exactly. Perhaps it was just there was too much going on, constant descriptions and new characters and so I just never really attached myself to the idea of the world or engaged with the characters.
It is a bit of a mix of Alice in Wonderland, Narnia, Peter Pan and Wizard of Oz and maybe I couldn't get past the comparisons with those stories to immerse myself. The book has such great ratings it seems I'm clearly in the minority
You're right about the classification. Amazes me what counts for "children's fiction" some times. Even with YA... My sister is a teacher and they are doing Hunger Games with her class of 11 year olds which surprised me. I guess I've become old and crusty...lol

We have now completed every category (including repeat of #5) excpet #2, colour ahead. In our case the team ahead is Tickle-Me-Pink, so we need to be reading pink.
I would just like to encourage everybody to read as many pink books as possible - at the moment we need just four more books, so if you have been putting off reading that pink book because you want to save it or don't know if you will enjoy, now is the time to read it!
Otherwise we still have a month before the challenge is due to close, two weeks before the next monthly update and the option to repeat another category, of which #7 seems most likely.
Congratulations everyone on helping us get so far so quickly!

Great job everyone.

And I gave up on my pink cover book :("
sorry dear. We have a couple of week for pink covers right? We will get it done :)
My book

Yep. Challenge lasts till end of July, so we still have plenty of time :D
On last Sunday of June we'll see if we are still with pink or we'll get new color. If color changes we can read both of them. :D
I'll probably pick it up at one point. I just wasn't in the right mood for it now.

Hello Hobbits! I have a question for you. ☺
What do you think about board games (monopoly, trivia, risk, bingo, memory,...)? Love them? Hate them? No special feelings?
I love playing board games and I found couple challenges on GR based on them.
Reason I'm asking, I have few ideas about making something based on Hobbit/LotR books/movies and would like your input. It would probably be long-term and we could play it for fun on the side (not as a challenge).
Since that needs lot of planning, I don't want to go through everything and then nobody is interested.
Any thoughts? Suggestions? Wishes?
I promise no hard feelings if you hate the idea. ☺
