Anna 335 For some reason I just hated Catching Fire I don't have a full huge list on why I hated this book its just I did. I felt that this book just wasn't as good as the first book. I never wanted to read the hunger games because I hated how popular it was getting! Everyone was obsessed and I got extremely annoyed. I didn't want to be part of that blob of people being obsessed with the same book. I wanted to find my own books that I found to be amazing and I didn't want it to blow up into something everyone was reading. No I am not a hipster or anything its just I hate being part of the crowd that everyone is fawning over. Anyways back to the book I hated this book sooooooo much that I didn't read the third book. SO my question is am I the only one who disliked this book?

OMG U hated this book as well? I thought I was the only one what a coincidence! I just hated this book I found it to be boring and I just got bored with the whole plot!

Anna 335 You took the words right out of my mouth!

Maddi Really? This was my favourite book! Hunger Games was a close call but MockingJay seemed boring and slow, while Catching Fire was interesting and exciting in my opinion

Anna 335 Oh I don't know I just really disliked this book probably because of Quarter Quell. I found it to be just sad and stupid no offense. I was just irritated because Katniss and Peeta just got out of the Hunger Games alive and a second later they are forced to marry then the people are like hey don't forget the quarter quell where you have to go back to the arena and fight to the death and hopefully you both will die this time so there won't be any trouble for the District. I don't I just disliked because I found while reading I was just thinking to myself could the plot get any more expected and sad. But I guess I can understand why you liked it a lot.

Abby I agree

Paul Harmon Sorry I liked it. It felt less like I was reading Battle Royale meets Death Race 2000 and more like a progression of the story.

You give a book you hate 3 stars? How terrible has it got to be so you rate something 1 star?

Out of the three books I liked Catching Fire the least, didn't hate it though.

Anna M. Watson I didn't hate it...but I sure didn't like it. The first book was okay...but not great. I'm just not a fan. Unfortunately, in order to have an opinion about the books, I have to read them. So I will be reading the third on eventually.

Katie I really disliked this book too. Catching Fire and Mockingjay were both huge letdowns after The Hunger Games.

You give a b..."

I found it to be mediocre and I guess some parts of the book were okay so I thought the most I could give it is three stars. But a book has to be awful for me to give it one star. The only time that I remember hating a book at the top of my head it the book Shiver.... I HAVE NEVER HATED A BOOK SO MUCH! so yeah thats one star. A book has to be downright terrible for me to give such a low rating. How many stars did you rate Catching fire?

You again? I just read your other discussion on how much you hate the teams in Twilight.

Do you have nothing else to do but hating?

I don't hate the book, but it definitely wasn't my favorite. I thought there was so much potential for Suzanne Collins fighting wise since she couldn't write about children killing each other, though with adults she had more freedom. I thought she just let that opportunity pass too easily. Maybe it's because I'm a boy and boys like violence. I don't even know...

The first was good, Catching Fire was heading down Naff Road a little and Mockingjay went full-speed ahead into Booville and stayed there for eternity. I think that once Collins diverted from the Games--her world she made up--it was a bit of a shock to have to deal without the Games. I still read the last books, and enjoyed small parts of them. But I wasn't as passionate about them as I was with the first. And I get what you mean about wanting to discover your own series, BookWorm. My advice is just to go into any bookstore or library, head straight for the section with you preferred style of books and pick one up. Very seldom is a book published that absolutely no one likes. Chances are you'll find the greatest thing you've ever read! :D

Leni Everyone says they like this book. I just grimace and nod my head but inside I'm screaming WHY WHY WHY WHY? It was confusing and depressing. Nothing happened for half of the book and then it all happened too fast.

Exactly! I mean, Peeta and Katniss train to be careers before the Reaping, and then they do nothing with it? What's that all about? Then when all the action really begins, Katniss is unconscious. Hopefully the film will be directed to a wider audience for this movie, rather than just teens. Like I said, they have a lot more freedom for the Bloodbath etc. now.

Just because I hate a couple of books and don't like the teams of Twilight doesn't give you the right to make a complete downright stupid assumption that I hate everything. And by the looks of this discussion I am not the only one who doesn't like Catching Fire. By the Way I have as much as a right to post on this website as you do? SO why are you surprised that I have come to post something. Why do you care anyways if I hate stuff its none of your business and to answer your question I do have a lot more stuff to do other than "hating"

Anmol i personally hated Catching Fire too. I also didnt like Mockingjay, but i still read the Hunger Games over and over even if i know what happens to the characters at the end of the series

Shubhra Agrawal I only really liked the first book. Catching fire was okay-ish and Mockingjay was downright terrible!! Glad to see there are many who agree with me on this! :p
