Has anyone come up with an icon to use (instead of that question mark) for M/T Reading Friends? What's the procedure? I had a masked raccoon as my profile pix for a while, but it wasn't very inspired. Thoughts?

I put up a picture I have of a stack of books, It does not have to stay, but I believe right now Carol and I are the only two that have the ability to upload a photo. If you have something you would like to try and use or if you know of a site with graphics, send it to one of us.
I'm glad Cheryl took the bull by the horns (bear by the tail?) and put something up. Having seen the two icons here, and others elsewhere, I can now articulate my thoughts about the content of the icon. My personal preference would be an icon that's a bit more mystery/thrillerish, which for me means no cute animals. I know, this from the woman who has a Peep Cake as her icon. What can I tell you.
However, I'm probably not going to take the time to search for one, so I'm content with what's there or what others want to forward/suggest.
Funny thing... after I had announced my interest in a new icon other than the question mark, I thought for a moment "this actually fits" a question mark and a mystery group. But, that was a momentary thought, I'm not asking for it back!

I, of course, would like to suggest an icon of a cute little kitty reading a book.

Ms. O'PhotogenicCat:It is posts like this that I extremely glad we have the opportunity to appreciate here on Goodreads!! Whatever icon we choose is fine with me. We could have a contest! ...sort of kidding about the contest, but if the candidate photos were posted on the photo section of this group, we could vote.

Jan,
I really like that idea! :)
Is it possible to upload either the cover of the current New York Times Mystery #1 best seller, or the cover of, say, last year's Edgar Award winner?
Carol -- I also like the idea of something mystery-thrillerish... no animals. I can upload things easily enough with my Mac. Eyecon '99 had a nice logo... silhouette of "detective' with smoking gun against a city backdrop. Something like that would work. I'll try to find something. If I do, who should I send it to?
There is a section for members' photos. Look in the upper right hand corner, and you can upload pictures there. That way we can all look at it. We may be able to add it as an icon from there; if not, we can have it sent to one of us to put in as icon.
I did a bit of research earlier and copied some clip art including: scales of justice, fingerprint, a chalk outline of a body, stacks of books, man in trenchcoat w/gun, etc.

Jan, I suggest you take a picture of yourself with kitty ears and whiskers, reading a book. Now THAT icon I could get behind!

I think Barry should also send the graphic he put up on our Facebook group -- it's a pistol lying on a table with some bullets stacked around them.

Yeah, I'll send it along with the brownie recipe. :-P

Gee, you make me sound like a criminal!
Okay, I uploaded a submission from Barry for a trial run. I'll also upload it into our photo gallery so if we get others and want to try them out we'll have something to compare it to.Cheryl, the photo up close was quite charming! the bear and the books were slightly tattered, and it gives the photo character. Why don't you put it up in the photo gallery if you have a chance in case there are some who want to remember it for later.
I like Barry's photo also but, just in case, I added a few icons in our Photos folder: chalk man, masked man, fingerprint, and scales of justice.Carol/Bonadie wrote: "Okay, I uploaded a submission from Barry for a trial run.
