Clockwork Princess
question
Anyone not Excited about TDA?

I already posted this once under City of Heavenly Fire, but I figured it might get more response on the ClockWork Princess Page.
I am not excited about TDA at all. At the end of TID I felt a lot of closure,(even though I was upset about some things) and what I wasn't sure about I hope will be answered in City of Heavenly Fire (doubtful since I think the epilogue takes place after City of Heavenly Fire.) But I liked that the epilogue in TID was years and years later, it made me really feel like it is over. I want that same feeling with TMI, but that can't happen because TDA is set only five years after TMI.
As much as I love reading about Clary, Jace, and all of the TMI characters, I want to feel satisfied with the ending, and would like an epilogue set in the far future, so I will know what happens.
I'm sorry, but because of TDA I know we won't get the answers because there is no way that Clary and Jace will not be a part of those books. When there is a major battle (and of course there will be) they will be apart of it because that is the way they are, always in the middle of things.
I know that TDA won't be about them, but they will be in them. (Just like Percy Jackson in the second Camp Half blood series) and that doesn't give me closure with what will happen with them.
I love TMI. They are some of my favorite books, but it feels like it is time for it to end. I want this last book to really conclude Clary and Jace's story, and I feel like TDA will just drag them along.
What do you guys think?

I am very excited for TDA.I love it when characters form the other books show up.I am a huge Tamora Pierce fan and in her books you get to see your favorite characters form her other books. It's like I am seeing old friends again and checking up on how they have been.
I'm actually really excited for TDA. She did a really good job with the Infernal Devices series so I have high hopes for TDA. I love seeing the characters pop up and I would like to see more of what happens-an epilogue barely counts.
I don't think I will read TDA but just because I didn't like how tessa was with Jem in the end so in my own stupid way by not reading I am protesting it, which I know is stupid, but I also feel like I don't really want to read it if a Herondale isn't in it
Im really excited for it though! At first i was scared after Heavenly Fire, Cassandra wouldnt make another series or atleast about shadowhunters. Im going to be really sad when TMI ends because it was the series that got me in love truely with books, but i too want a good Cassandra Clare ending. As long as she wraps it up nicely as she did in TID i will be happy.
I'm really looking forward to TDA. Currently, there are just too many unanswered questions, too many loose ends from TMI and TID for the world of Shadowhunters to just... end. So excited! A bit of a downer that we have to wait so long for the first book though :(
I'm more excited about THL (which is about the kids of Tessa and Will, Sophie and Gideon, Cecily and Gabriel) than I am TDA.
On the flipside, I love badass characters and Emma is going to be a badass, so that makes me happy. Clary drives me crazy and Tessa I loved in CA but wanted to strangle her the past two books.
On the downside, from what I've read about Julian he doesn't interest me at all. I might change my mind, of course. I just don't really feel excited about TDA. (And I swear if all thoseWeasley's Blackthorn's have nicknames I'm going to scream.)

The ending in CP has lessen my desire in reading TDA. I don't feel excited anticipating Tessa-Jem's appearance and no Will at all.
I am more curious and excited in reading THL series. I would love to read more about Will, Cecily, Charlotte, Sophie and their children/grandchildren.

I can't get enough of Clare but TDA is just pushing it. I like this whole world but I've had just about enough. Time to move on, I think.
I feel like there's being so excited about living in and writing in a world that you write every book about it and then there's riding the cash cow because you know that the same formula rewritten several times over sells like hot cakes... And I think CC is straddling that line.
Honestly. I gave up at City of Lost Souls. I don't need more. City of Glass was a wonderful conclusion to the modern day Shadowhunter world. And Clockwork Princess (minus that dreadful epilogue) was a wonderful conclusion to a wonderful prequel series that set the whole world up.
So why tamper with such wonderful conclusions?
And, honestly, does there REALLY need to be six different series written in the same world? Really? The series about Will and Tessa's children was just the final nail in the coffin for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them, but now I am utterly done with the Shadowhunters.
