My God! Amazon is like some creeping crud that is taking over the world! I'm sorry I haven't noticed increased prices, but since Amazon has now bought Goodreads, I had to comment on that. I have noticed some higher prices at Barnes and Noble which is where I usually shop since I have a Nook.
I was browsing through the group reads that this group, the Fantasy Series group and the European Royalty group had selected to read for the next couple of months and was staggered at the price of the paperbacks. It just might be my imagination or bad luck though - I don't want any conclusions to be jumped at.
I've noticed the same, tbh. Not that I use BookDepository much these days, but whatever I searched for was priced higher than I expected. Maybe it's just bad luck, tho.
Watch what you say about Amazon - I hear they just purchased Goodreads! http://www.npr.org/2013/03/29/1756628...

I understand that BD has been taken over by Amazon but until recently the prices for a paperback (with free delivery) was far less than anything that Amazon would quote (and then charge international postage on top).
Is this a price gouge happening through lack of competition or just my imagination?
