He put a hand on top of one of hers, tears filling his eyes, "it's my fault she died."

"What do you mean?" she asked quietly, looking up at him.
"We were friends for a while," he started, "but the village she lived in found out I was a demon, so they forced me out. But she wanted to stay with me, so we left together. We fell in love, but I didn't believe anyone could love me, so I started pushing her away and I finally forced her to leave. She went back to her village and they hung her for living with me," tears were falling down his cheeks by the time he finished.
Samantha didn't speak. She was absorbing all of this information. She slowly rubbed his thigh, trying ti comfort him.
He looked down at her hand, watching it, his bottom lip quivering.
Samantha let her hand rest on the inside of his leg.
Samantha looked at him. She kissed his nose gently.
He smiled sadly, "that's kind of the reason I was like I was when we first met."
"Were you like this before?" she asked gently.
"Yes, I was," he said, wiping his tears away, but more tears came.
Samantha wiped his years away for him. "I could see why she loved you."
"Really," he asked, doubt in his voice.
"Of course." she said, kissing his cheek.
"Why don't you finish your eggs, then we can go on a walk. I know a lake that is really peaceful and beautiful."
"Sounds good!' she said cheerfully, taking a bite.
He nodded and stood up with a smile.
Samantha stood up, smiling at him. She entwined her fingers with his.
He got butterflies in his stomach, suddenly nervous. He led her out of the house.
Samantha leaned her head against his shoulder, her barefeet plodding gently on the ground.
He looked down and saw she didn't have shoes on, "want to go get some shoes?"
"No, this is fine." she said gently, her deep red lips forming a smooth smile at him.
"Ok, but if your feet start hurting, let me know and I'll carry you," he continued leading her.
He smiled as he continued leading her.
"Is there flowers around the lake?_
"Yep," he said letting go of her hand and wrapping his arm around her waist.
"Then its perfect." she said softly, wrapping an ark around his waist in turn.
He chuckled and kissed her cheek.
He smiled back and stopped. "Closed your eyes," he told her, not wanting her to see the lake till they were out of the trees.
Samantha closrf her eyes obediently, smiling.
He smiled and stood behind her, putting his hands on her hips, gently guiding her forward.
Samantha felt a shiver up her spine as she felt his hands.
He didn't say anything as he guided her out of the trees. He stopped her, "ok, you can open your eyes now."
Samantha opened her eyes. She gazed around her, silent in awe.
"I love it..." she said breathlessly.
She turned to him and kissed both his cheeks. "It's perfect..z
He wrapped his arms around her and held her close.
She wrapped her arms around his neck closed her eyes.
