It is Tara Brown. Good book, different kind of dark that Captive and Seduced I think, but still a good read.
I just read Wanderlust by Skye Warren. Starts out really dark but I certainly enjoyed the read. I think we need a new "Stockholm Syndrome" category.
I have so many new TBR books because of this link! I have "The Tied Man" on my laptop through the Amazon app. I haven't made it very far in that one because reading on my laptop isn't comfortable...I'm hoping it will be available for Nook at some point. Yesterday, I bought "The Lonely," "Screaming in the Silence," and "Trust in Me" for my nook. I'll be starting "The Lonely" as soon as I finish my current book:)
Wanda: Haven't read "The Lonely" yet but I have read "Screaming in the Silence" and "Trust in Me" and I really liked them (if the word "like" is appropriate for these fairly dark books). And, of course, as those who know me on Goodreads know, my personal Pulitzer Prize winner for 2013 is "The Tied Man", a book that will probably live with you forever.
Just finished up the Lonely and The Tied Man. Great stories with a dark context. I really enjoyed the Lonely.
I'm reading The Lonely right now. I'm about half way through. I won't have any more time to read today until about 9:00 tonight!! Something tells me it's going to be a late night!
The truth is all of the books mentioned are good but there are no books like the Dark Duet. Nothing like them! I LOVE them!

I have some more similar books:Mafia Captive Kitty Thomas and
The Devil's Pawn by Elizabeth Finn
... but nothing compares to The Duet:)
Hope you enjoy!

Finished The Lonely. It really was a great book, I'm so glad it was recommended. I believe my next read from this list of recommendations is going to be Trust In Me.
Wanda - Just beware that Trust in Me is a little dark in places but I certainly enjoyed reading it. I have Take Me, Break Me on Kindle, don't know about Nook. I don't know if you saw prior discussion with Tabitha McGowan re The Tied Man only being on Kindle, but she has signed on only with Kindle and right now it isn't available on Nook. She suggested loading a Kindle App on your IPhone or IPad. Her "mum" read The Tied Man like that (I love Britishisms).
Thanks Judy! I did end up finding it on B&N. It was just very strange. I initially tried searching directly in their website...this has never failed me before. It didn't seem to be there. So, I did a general google search for the book and found a link to it on B&N. Too weird...but at least I have it.Also, sometimes, the darker the story, the more I enjoy it. I think something is wrong with me:)
Wanda _ I KNOW there is something wrong with me (ha! ha!). Just finished Bec Botefuhr's 3rd and final "Dark Endings" and enjoyed that series and also just finished J. S. Taylor's Close Up and Personal and Berkeley Method, it was okay and The Devil's Pawn by Elizabeth Finn -- I didn't really like it. If you hear about any other "dark" ones let me know. (I've read Claim Me, Wanderlust, Locked (#1 of 3 by Maya Cross and can't wait for #2) and probably 100's of others that I can't think of right now.

Judy - I just finished Dark Endings this morning and really liked the series as well! Mick is twisted, but Jagger sounds yummy.

I just don't usually tell too many people:) It's safe to say there is no axe murdering in my future either, I'm too busy reading!

Completely understand about the book hoarding. My TBR list is huge, yet I still buy more. In fact I bought "The Tied Man" even though I have so many others I haven't read yet. I haven't started it yet, but plan to this week sometime. If I spent half as much time doing projects I need to do instead of looking at goodreads or book blogs, I would be a lot richer, and more productive.
Just finished

Pretty dark and disturbing, but I really liked them. I think they are only available for Kindle. :(
Tabitha: Well, I am definitely in touch with my darkside, probably thanks almost entirely to you. I didn't start reading these books until I finished The Tied Man. Now (don't take this wrong) please get busy on TTM2, we need some more wonderful Finn & Lilith serving up some darkside to all those evil people. Actually, now that I think about it, most of the books sitting unread on my Kindle I bought before I read "The Tied Man" and turned dark!! It is ALL your fault!Karen: I know what you mean about unread books on my Kindle. Everytime I read a recommendation from my friends or through these threads, I read the reviews, decide I like what I read and I go to Amazon and buy it. Then I read it first, leaving the 25 or so other books still left unread, books that are probably just as good. I need an intervention. But I think Amazon would be upset to lose their profit stream and would intervene in my intervention!
Maybe we need a new thread on "Unread Books on My Kindle -- What Should I Read First?"
Karen: Thanks a lot -- three more at the front of the line!! Since we are discussing dark books, even though the title is pretty dorky, I really liked The Man Who Holds the Whip by Shoshanna Evers.
Sleepy wrote: "Maybe the Consequence series, the third one isn't out yet but its also a mind fuck! I haven't read Truth yet but everyone tells me its better than the first and so good! Also maybe The Lonely. Hope..."True thats sort of alike both series I loved need book 3 to both ha
Karen: OK, I just finished Retribution. Am I suppose to guess who showed up? Is there another book coming? I'm fairly certain it is Gage, but it could have been Ian easily. HELP!
Judy wrote: "Karen: OK, I just finished Retribution. Am I suppose to guess who showed up? Is there another book coming? I'm fairly certain it is Gage, but it could have been Ian easily. HELP!"Judy,
I'm going with Gage, since she had been talking to Ian the whole time, but not getting in physical contact with him. I am hoping there is one more to tie things up completely.
I think your idea of a new thread sounds great!! Maybe it would help me. I've thought of going on a book buying fast. No buying any new books for 30 days. I could only read books I have already, or that I can get free, but the thought of that makes my hands start shaking, and I kind of get a panicky feeling. What if a book I really wanted went on sale for .99??? What then?? WHAT. THEN???? Would I just let it go, and not buy it?!?!?? sigh.......do you think they have meetings somewhere???
Karen:My DT's start just thinking about no new books for 30 days. What if the new Crossfire comes out early? Or the new Damaged? I couldn't possibly live without them!
Where do you think we should start our "How Many Unread Books Do You Have on Your Kindle" discussion thread? I would love to list mine and let someone really knowledgeable give me a reading order (of course, knowing that more will be added along the way).
Judy wrote: "Karen: OK, I just finished Retribution. Am I suppose to guess who showed up? Is there another book coming? I'm fairly certain it is Gage, but it could have been Ian easily. HELP!"Who is the author of retribution and is it a dark story??
Swativ1008: Go up to message 74 above and click on the book covers. These are the books we are talking about. I read all three and they were good and yes, dark. But it does end kind of weirdly.

Where do you think we..."
I'm with you guys on this. I have so many books on my nook right now that I don't know if I'll ever get to all of them! Only allowing myself free books wouldn't help either because my sickness seems to include them. If they sound good and they're free, I have a tendency to download them right then...you never know how long they're going to be free.
Anyway, if you start a new thread regarding unread books, please let me know. It sounds great to me!
Okay, I started a thread on Fifty Shades of Grey about unread Kindle/Nook books. I put it under 50 Shades because I think that is when we all started reading like the bookaholics we are. We'll see what everyone else has sitting, waiting to be read. (I didn't mention in my thread that by the time I get back to it I'll have probably purchased a few more books, never seeming to get satisfy my craving!)
Must, must read this book... just finished it... dark, dark and dangerous Sinister Kisses I'm on to it's sequel Bound by VengeanceAMAZING AMAZING... highly recommend to peeps on this feed. Enjoy :)
I have now finished
...so thankful for the epilogue! Now I'm reading
to lighten things up a bit before I dive into either

Everyone: I just read a book that I think is definitely on par with Captive in the Dark. It is "Nearly Broken" by Devon Ashley. Beware, it is dark and brutal but I couldn't put it down.
