Unwind, by Neal Shusterman, is a good book. So is Graceling and Fire by Kristin Cashore. Unwind kind of has that runaway/sci-fi thing. its really good.

I like Kitty Norville, Morganville Vampires, (uh... trying to keep this to the pg-13 list... lol) Gardella Vampire Chronicles is a bit on the "older" side due to romance, but still amazing.
