Kim | 1 comments Hi there fellow readers!

I would like to know how you prefer to read your favourite titles!

For a class project we have complied a short survey that we would love for you to take part in. It should only take about 5 minutes, and will let us know your preference between eBooks or Paper Books!

Here's the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/13PHt...

Feel free to share the survey with friends, family and fellow book lovers!

Thank you!

Goldn Persephone | 4 comments Personally if I really loved a book I would rather own the actual book over having it on my Kindle.
When it comes to books I just want to read but don't want to re-read my kindle works best.
I guess I only want the actual book to place on my bookshelves when it's a book that hit me at heart.
I will be doing your survey soon ^_^

I love my Kindle (have missed placed it since Sunday and am forced to read on my phone :( hard to get all my reading in for this month now).

I still have a book shelf, and its full of my favourite books - to make my real book shelf the book needs to be one that I would re-read some time in my life time. The trouble is as I get older there are more and more books that fit this category.

My dream job would be one that pays me to read, but they would have good books - there are a lot of books out there that are bad unfortunately.

I've found that same issue applies to me, my bookshelves are full! However I have found that as I have grown, I have outgrown certain books and therefore I have donated many books to the library. Mostly what I have kept now, are many poetry books, many Graphic Novels, and some books in a series.

Arily at first I felt the same too, but when I realised why I loved these books, I just couldn't bear to part with them. When I put the book in context of when it was written and when I read it; it still had a place on my shelf. I feel this way about classic TV shows too; early Star Trek, Doctor Who and Bewitched may seem corny now, but in their time they were magnificent!

Emily Craven (emilycraven) | 21 comments Prefer a Kobo myself :) That way I can get epubs from wherever I want. Slowly I've been migrating to digital books because I just don't have anywhere to put the print ones I buy! Plus I like buying my books rather than pirating/borrowing them, and that's cheaper to do digitally :)

Emily (creatorlimbs) I completed your survey. I much prefer my e-reader because I'm a bit of a clutterphobe. And books are one of many things that clutter up my life. I also move a lot and my books get ruined, so it's just easier and better for me in general to stick to this one electronic device.

Exactly I just can't part with my books I'd rather part with a toe. Now that I have a son I regret getting rid of the books I had when I was seven and eight because they are now out of print. You never know when u hold a treasure

message 9: by Megan (new)

Megan | 8 comments I prefer books to ebooks because I find that if I use my nook I end up not finishing the book. I like to be able to hold an actual book while I'm reading too.

Tejashree | 6 comments definitely prefer books over ebooks they somehow feel real and make me feel home.

Cheyenne (cheylaraine) I don't hate Kindles, Nooks, or any other form of virtual reading, per se. I understand the appeal of an eBook. My dad has vision problems so he can adjust the font size and it makes it a lot easier for him.

Myself, I'm a fan of the classic hardcover book with pages you can feel between your fingers. I love the smell of new books, I love the rush of excitement you get when you run your fingers over the glossy cover. J'adore books.

So I guess both forms of reading have their place.

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 18 comments A big concern I have with Kindles (and I dont know if it is true with other readers), you arent actually an Owner of the titles you buy. It is leased to you for your use. So if they ever decided to do away with kindles, you lose all your books whether you have paid for them or not

Oh, yeah -_- kinda the same way I feel about iTunes. (Unrelated topic, but same principle, y'know?)

Rosemary (huskymom) I prefer to read on my Kindle, it is light and very convenient when browsing and buying books. I live in South Africa, and books are more expensive here because of import costs etc, so the savings on using my Kindle are substantial.

I read between 15 and 20 books a month so any savings I can make on the price of a book is good :) But ..... if I really, really love a book I read on the Kindle, I will buy the paper book for my bookshelf. I love my bookshelves, but space is a huge problem.

message 16: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Benitez | 1 comments I prefer actual books over ebooks but I've learned that for travel or vacation, ebooks are better because then I don't need an extra bag. For me though, nothing beats curling up with an actual book in your hand.

message 17: by Brooke (new)

Brooke Bryan (brookebryan) | 10 comments I just finished the survey, I prefer actual books. I have book shelves in almost every room of my house and I think that is why my kids are starting to enjoy reading. They are surrounded with books. My husband is trying to get me more into using my nook but I am still dragging my feet. I do carry my Nook and a book in my purse at all times.

Sakura (valleybookdoll) | 6 comments I will always prefer physical books over ebooks. I have a mini library and I love seeing shelves filled with books.
The only reason I read ebooks is because it's easy to read on the go. I always carry an actual book in my bag (it's kind of like my security blanket), but it's nice to have my iPad/iPhone containing several options for me to choose from. Plus, buying/getting ebooks is really quick and easy.

message 19: by Dean (new)

Dean MacAllister (deanmacallister) Maybe we should leave our Ebooks readers turned on and on the bookshelf when others come over. 'Please feel free to flip through my downloaded catalogue.'

Yusreen | 21 comments Nothing can beat the feeling when you touch real books, the smell, the texture.. I think real books are just better, but when I can't find a copy of the books that I want in my country, I would turn to ebooks. Its easier to find a copy and cheaper.

True, which is why I went Kobo rather then Kindle when I bought a reader. It's just easier (and nicer!) that way.

message 22: by サラ (new)

サラ サラ | 9 comments I love real books "paper pack". I love the feel, the texture and smell of books. Its more real and the turning pages , I think it is like making memories with each turning page. On the other hand my eyes get tired when I read eBooks. That is my biggest turn off.
