Hey Jennie, thanks for the post. I put up a small display on my desk with the book & some movie PR next to each other. A teen checked it out! So far, she reports that she can't put the book down, that it lures her on by making her want to know more, MORE, MORE! :)
I felt the same way when I read it! I found The Host to be an intriguing twist on the classic sci-fi body snatchers tale. I'm curious to see how the movie holds up. It was written as an adult book but has a lot of teen crossover appeal and nothing content-wise that I think most parents would find objectionable.
I loved this book too! Although I am afraid to watch the movie after what they did to the Twilight series (hated the movies!).

I still haven't seen this but will hopefully get a chance before it is out of theaters (I opted for Jurassic Park in 3D this weekend instead of seeing a new movie). I'm going to assume it is bad until I see it and maybe I will be pleasantly surprised, heh. I thought the Twilight movies were sort of meh but I wasn't expecting too much. I think the biggest disappointment for me was the Eragon movie.
