Get a cartoon of yourself. Something that captures some of what you look like, but without the unflattering realism.
I don't like photos of myself either.

You can get something painted by an artist in a way that captures some of your looks and personality and also is relevant to your genre cheaply. (I paid $10 for each of mine)
