Update:And I'm Currently Reading: Invisible Monsters - Chuck Palahniuk 297 pgs
So I've Read 16 Books So Far, And 6215 pgs.
My Goal Is To Read At Least 50 Books, And At Least 1,000,000 Pgs.
Maybe we should make a folder that holds our individual reading goals for the year. In our individual thread, we can make a master list of what we want to read and cross off titles or we could just make a running list. Anyone have any thoughts? Do we already have something like this?
that would be nice. an easy tracker for ouselves and other to see our goals. i didnt see anything like that which is why i started this thread.
That sounds like a good idea. Another group I'm involved in has a folder like that. There is also a group specifically for people posting their reading challenges I think. My only reservation is that I don't want to clutter the group too much with folders that people don't really use.
So..how many people like this idea and would utilize this folder for their personal reading challenge if it was created? If we get enough interest than I'll just make one "CHALLENGE" folder for our group school year challenge and personal challenges.

i would be in for that. personal challenge is what motivates people the most. so i think it would bring in more people who are intimidated by the other challenges that have been posted.
so... like a thread where everyone posts once and edits as they go along, listing the books they've read in 2009? I'd be up for that.
I think, if I understand the idea correctly, it would be a whole other folder and everyone would have their own thread..? That's what I gathered..but I think either would work..just like we are doing for our group challenge
i really liked it. i havent watched the movie but i hear it's very different.the text jumps around a bit and is a little bit hard to follow sometimes.
but i has one of the best endings i've ever read.
it really makes you feeled wowed when you've finished.
Yeah, I didn't know it was a book. Saw it a couple weeks ago.....I'll have to check it out. I'd be down for a challenge folder.
I was talking about a new folder. The Next Best Book Club has one, if you want to look at that to get an idea of what I mean.
people post and repost their goals there though. this folder should be a one time post for each person and they can just edit it instead of reposting. that way it doesnt take up too much space, and is easier to see where you are on your goal list.
If we create a new folder, you'll create a thread that's like Michelle's Reading Goals, I'll have Lori's Reading Goals, Jamie will have Jamie's Reading Goals, and so on for however many people want to participate. Each individual can structure their thread however they want. They can do a list and cross them off (like we do with the Challenge) or they can do a new post each time they finish a book. And we can all comment on the threads to give encouragement or whatever.
Wow, I've never thought of counting book pages before. That's so creative! I just might have to start doing that. Do you take into consideration if some books have smaller texts, bigger pages, etc. or is that way too much information?
