Here is the prolouge to one of my stories:

(the rest of the story coming soon after Silver Moon,Golden Sun is finished!)
Three priceless objects lay upon a mohogany table. A man,in his early thirties stared at them silently.

"Do I have to?" His voice broke the uneasy silence. The figure,a regal looking woman, glanced at him,her eyes shadowed with pain. "I'm afraid you don't have a choice. They will come soon and we will die. That is the end of it. Our only hope of saving both Ralacor, Murkaa, and the Isles of Koir is to hide the Three in the Otherworld."

"But are you sure?" implored the man,"What if the Chosen are to reluctant to leave their families?"

The woman studied him with her cool dark eyes and the hint of a smile played about her delicate lips. "I am never completley sure. But the three Chosen will have no families. The Prophecy has made sure of that. Remember?"

The man struggled to recall the verse. "Oh yes. That is good. But . . ." he teailed away, glancing at the Three. "I am surprised you trust me with these. Wouldn't Hahlan be a better choice?"

"Hahlan's dead," she snapped bitterly,"The Sorcerers came for him this morning."
"You mean . . .No." The man's features twisted with grief. "I am the only one left of the Inner Circle?"

"I am afraid so. You are the only one who can make the journey. And if you die,oh well. We are all going to die soon. Whether it is here or there makes no difference." Her cold certainty stung him sharply. He started to gather up the Three. A pendant, a glass sphere and-
His thought was interupted by a sharp banging on the door. The woman's face paled. "No," she whispered numbley,"No! It's too soon! I asked the Captain Uyat to hold them off as long as possible before-"

"Your precious Guardians are easier to kill then you believe." A sibilant whisper snaked through the door. The voice laughed. It sounded like a python tightening it's hold on a man's throat. The door exploded into piles of white-hot debris as several black-robed figures strode haughtily into the room. They grabbed the woman and the man cried out.

"Go!" she screamed,"Go!" The man vanished, along with the Three. The last sight of his beloved he had was the image of a cruel Sorcerer holding a knife to her neck.

♫Krista♫ (kristabobista) Well im off and on- im working on a story that iv neglected for months, and im also working on the 3rd chapter for DGC BOOK 2.

message 94: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Ruscigno my intentions are strictly confidential, and are only revealed to those within my inner council -_-. but yes i was referring to it-was-cool-he-got-his-published

message 95: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Ruscigno i thought publish-ing costs money?

message 96: by ♫Krista♫ (new)

♫Krista♫ (kristabobista) it does, sadly. . . *sigh*

message 97: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Ruscigno well publish technicaly means-
1 a: to make generally known b: to make public announcement of2 a: to disseminate to the public b: to produce or release for distribution ; specifically : print 2c c: to issue the work of (an author)intransitive verb1: to put out an edition2: to have one's work accepted for publication

so pretty much to advertise. patenting is also another thing that costs money =P, greedy cows, all they think about is money, no longer to people care about the imagination!

message 98: by Kyle (last edited Jun 24, 2009 08:01PM) (new)

Kyle Ruscigno or copywrite or whatever

usually the publisher will copywrite it for you though

message 99: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Ruscigno What it does specifficaly say(this was found by my agents, source is disclosed)

"The minute you wrote it, you owned the copyright. That is how the new copyright laws work. However if you have posted any portion of your work anywhere on the internet, you can almost guarantee it has been already stolen. That almost assures that no publisher will touch it. It is too expensive for them to send their legal team out to make sure you are the original author and deal with the possibilities of a lawsuit if someone else claims ownership. They will - and did - do it for Dan Brown. They won't waste the money on a new author. There is only one copyright that is guaranteed safe. Write it, back it up and put it away and show it to nobody. There are no Copyright Police to back you up if it is stolen. Persi's Law #2 - No copyright is worth a darn without an expensive ****** lawyer to back it up. Suppose you are in Iowa and someone in China steals it? Then what do you do? Nothing. You lost your work."

so if you do ever want to be serious about getting something published, you could release maybe a chapter here and there, but i would not suggest posting the whole thing, unless of course goodreads has a built in copywrite, ill have my "agents" check in on it. -_-
