There is a script the database runs to check the publish date of individual editions against the original published date. If it finds an edition that is older then the original publication date, the original publication date (a value shared by all editions) is changed to match the oldest edition.
The only way to correct this is to find, as you have done, the specific edition with the incorrect date and change the date of that EDITION so it is not older than the original publication date. The usual culprits are the Arabic editions where users have erroneously entered in the Arabic date (1200s-1300s, usually) in the edition date field.
Thank you so much for the explanation!the problem now is figuring out the edition date of that Arabic edition of the work, I've tried converting 1378 Hijiri calendar to Gregorian and it sends me to 1958/9, it's not the correct date.
Can one of the Arabic speaking librarian maybe look into this?
