How did you feel about LIGHT? (It got released early in Australia. I have already read it and have just finished crying)

SPOILER................................................................I must admit I shed a few tears when Brianna died, no one could do it like the Breeze. loved it overall, although I expected a bit more story around Little Pete. Loved Caine's redemption.

After I read the book I was like now what what am I suppose to do...Why do I exist how can I survive !! Then I thought I'd just reread it in the holiday mwahahah :D Plus with a book so good (I gave it 5 stars) they have to make a series right ??? Movies would be to long**

Light was Mind blowing, I love when Astrid said she would write about it and Alot good characters died(Brianna, Orc, Dahra, Justin, Jack, and Caine why!) I love the ending It was Beautifully. Michael Grant you are a Mastermind!

Light was awesome

I really liked it. I was sad about Brianna, it felt wrong for her to die. Also, I thought Sam's character was downplayed and not as heroic as I would have liked at the end. But Caine (Little Pete) v. Gaia was awesome. And Edilio was amazing. I liked what he did with Diana a lot, and Lana and Astrid and Diana's friendship at the end was great. And I actually liked Caine by the end of this book. I do think Michael Grant included some more mature content and he shouldn't have. It was really hard when I finished but somehow the last part of the acknowledgements helped me.

oh and throughout the entire book I was like "sams gunna die" so when caine was actually the one I was like WOAH.
poor poor Diana.
all I wanted out of her was for her to forget about everything, gaia and all that crap and move on and find somebody who truly loves her and have a happy life. by the near ending I wanted I to be with caine BUT THATS NOT GONNA HAPPEN. so I still want it to happen though.

OMIGOD IT TOOK ME LIKE TWO DAYS TO ACCEPT THAT THE GONE SERIES WAS OVER.
I was just like "woah."

I was annoyed that after 6 books, everything they all went through, 1 whole friggin year in the FAYZ, it ended like THAT.
im glad caine had a part in it, because after everything he did, how he acted for part of the FAYZ, im glad he was. but it was sad. because of Diana. and everything.
but it ended to suddenly. I had to reread the part with caine and gaia because I was just like : THATS IT? IS THERE MORE. IS IT REALLY OVER?

it was so sad when jack, Brianna, and orc died but honestly I think they needed to. maybe not jack, but Brianna and orc would have felt so out of place. I loved Brianna but still...

I think the aftermath was good. that Diana lives with astrid and sam feels really right.
and that edilio is all safe and legal AND ROGER is just the best.

I loved how the death toll was only 40% it showed how much they survived throughout everything.

only thing was I don't know what happened to toto. I was warming up to him.

if you read all this and reflected thanks and props to you. I kinda have a lot to say about this book and this series and OMIGOD ITS ACTUALLY OVER WOW.

So yeah.

deleted user I'm so sad this series is over... the characters were just so relatable and real... I feel like I knew them in real life and I just can't let go of th ...more

It was very good, but I hate how Caine had to die so much!! I'd rather little Pete had chosen astrid to use. I loved Caine!

Was so happy with the end but if i could of made a few changes i would have wished for more of an ongoing battle with Gaia n lil Pete wanted drake to suffer more and for dekka jack and Orc to batter Gaia after briannas heart breaking death what happens to sanjit n lana relation ship loved cains redemption the bit that bothered me and really up set me was the three sisters who ran up to Sam n Gaia with poles that was horrid but what an finale hands up

I have only one question. There are 332 kids in FAYZ, 136 were dead & 196 survived. but after so many fight, starvation, fire incidents, killing cough, bugs and etc etc kids were dying everyday. And after gaia's attack more than half of the lake kid were dead and then some more were dead during the final fight. In my mind I just was not expecting to so many to survive. don't get me wrong i am glad they survived but books did not give that impression and in light after that massacre I thought may be 50 or 60 people left so I was surprised to see that number at the end

It seemed really anti-climatic to me, and didn't really feel anything when reading the book which is never a good sign (okay maybe a bit upset with what happened with the Breeze...). I guess it's always hard to have a perfect ending, especially when there are six books in the series, because readers want a reward for sticking with it all the way through so it's easy to be disappointed I guess.

Anyway onto the book. Sam was useless in this book and that is my main gripe, and for a main protagonist who pretty much gets mentioned on every page about being a hero and how he's one of the only ones who can save everyone, it was a bit of a let down. I'm struggling to think of anything Sam did in this book that saved lives. At the end of the day Caine saved everyone and Brianna seemed much more important/better in a fight then Sam throughout the entire series, Caine saved Sam again with his letter at the end. And out of all the main characters, he was probably better off than most in terms of who he lost. Astrid has to kill her own a brother. Diana effectively loses her child and her other half. Brianna dies. Only person Sam truly cared about was Astrid and she got out fine, his best friend Quinn was also fine, he and Dekka were clearly close and she came out fine (she even loses the person she loves), Edilio was fine. The ending just seemed way too nice for Sam. With him being the main protagonist and supposedly the main hero of the story I was expecting him to be the one who lost out in some way or being an important factor in the victory at the end. (Yeah I'm not a fan of sort of happy endings, especially when the series has been pretty dark throughout). Everyone went out in a blaze of glory apart from him in my opinion, which was a bit annoying. By being the main protagonist we're always cheering for him throughout all those books and then he does nothing in the end!?

Astrid got annoying in the middle of the series but I liked her in this book. I've always thought I'd like the Diana character by the end and I did so was glad she survived.

Apart from the evil characters I actually liked a majority of the characters, apart from Lana who was bloody annoying throughout the entire series. And Albert.

Anyone I probably seem like a hater but I liked this book (read it in a day haha) and liked the series. Would love too see it adapted as a TV show, think it would do really well.

I had an emotional breakdown reading this. Next to nothing can be as good-no, amazing-as this book. Brilliant conclusion to the series. That being said, I'm going to miss waiting for the next book to come out.

deleted user I fully agree with you.

I really didn't like how he never say's what happen's to ToTo. And in the end when Astrid is giving the the speech she never mention's Dahra I was so sad I really likes Darha :(

Orc, Jack, Brianna, Dahra, Justin, Caine...I was so when all of them died. An amazing conclusion to the FAYZ

What an amazing finish to an amazing series. To quote "They went out in a blaze of Glory" is putting it mildly. For those who died, it was sad to say the least. Not stop action from start to finish.

Yeah, I wish Brianna didn't die, loved her. :(
