Norm Hamilton (normhamilton) | 26 comments I uploaded an epub for this book, but when I click on the link in the email to make it available I get a page saying
"page unavailable
An unexpected error occurred. We will investigate this problem as soon as possible — please check back soon!"

Can someone here let me know if the ebook is available and also if it shows the whole book or just the excerpt as I marked it?

Also, I can't figure out how to find an ebook if it has been uploaded for someone's book. Where do I find the link?

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments This is odd. I'm going to answer your questions a bit backwards to work through the issue.

Usually when an ebook has been uploaded you will see a dark green button in the column with the book cover and want to read button that says "read book" or "read excerpt" depending on which you specify. Example: Treasure Island has a "read book" button and Gone Girl has a "read excerpt" button.

As the author you can go to your books page and click "edit details", when you do this you will be able to see a list of eBooks added to the book in the right hand column.

Since there is something clearly out of the ordinary going on with your upload, I can't really answer this question with any certainty. I, as a librarian, was able to download it from the edit page, but I'm not entirely sure how eBook uploads and setting up excerpts work.

To clear up the issue, let's try this. I completely deleted the eBook you uploaded earlier. Try uploading it again and see if that doesn't force it through. Sometimes a page gets "stuck" being unavailable so we'll try to get around that.

If it's still acting up after you re-upload, your beset bet will be to contact Goodreads Support.

Norm Hamilton (normhamilton) | 26 comments Thanks Vicky.

I have uploaded it again - this time without the "epub feature" of having to review it prior to it being available. It should be available as an excerpt download now.

Norm Hamilton (normhamilton) | 26 comments Thanks Vicky. I'm pleased it worked.

The link in the email from Goodreads that is supposed to take me to edit the permissions or delete the ebook gived an "undeliverable page" error message.

There seems to be some problems in the coding from support. The Goodreads site has quite a number of issues like this. Hopefully they are busy trying to correct them.

✦BookishlyRichie✦ (bookishlyrichie) | 108 comments Hi, I'm trying to upload an epub ebook for my readers to purchase since I don't publish with barnes and noble and when I upload it's telling me pick an option but they all say "..download for free" how can I sell my book on here?

Norm Hamilton (normhamilton) | 26 comments When I was trying to do the same I saw was a message that Goodreads is not allowing any ebooks uploaded for sale at this time.

Oh wow I wonder why. I hope they clear that up real soon.

Sandra | 31525 comments Richard, GoodReads has never sold books or ebooks, we have provided links to sellers' sites though. You could try Smashwords if you don't want to go through B&N (this is my opinion and in no way reflects GR policy)

Of course, with GR being sold to Amazon, all things could change, but not for several months at least, until everything goes through.

Actually, there was a period of time where there were some ebooks for sale. That has not been true for a while though.

Also, it is confusing to have a thread about a specific book become a general question thread. I am closing this one; please start a new thread for any further questions.
