I didn't like book 4 too. The 2 first were good, then BAM book 3 my FAVE out of all of them, then came book 4.....ugh. It was OK. Lets hope this one is better considering where book 4 left of..

wow, I'm about 3 chapters in...did all of the books do this??

it's bouncing around POV and I'm having a tough time following because it happens mid chapter.

omg I don't think Alec will ever do that....Camille is a crazy lady and an annoying character, she's one of the reason why Alec is doubting his relationship w/Magnus :(

Maia is so rude to Jordan...hello??? the guy is falling head over heels and it looks like you're doing that too, why deny the feelings? why push him away cos we all know you'll come running back later, just stop with the denying and refusing argh

And Simon.. oh Simon :( I hope that when he talks to his sister that she doesn't take the truth like their mum did. I can't begin to imagine how awful he feels...

the change in POV is still a little crazy. I keep tryingo to remember where everyone is. lol

I feel really bad for Magnus. What is Alec up to? Making deals with Camille and stuff....not good! :(

I find this tiring. The chapters are so long and full of lots of unnecessary descriptions, my head hurts LOL! and so much is going on at once. So many stories, it's a bit confusing especially the whole constant switching of third-person-POV but yeah it's better than the last one :)

YES! What is with these really long descriptions?!?! I totally agree.
I find myself getting through a whole huge paragraph and thinking "why did I need to know any of that?!?"

ugh....well, we're over 200 pages in! We will persevere and get through this! LOL!

We will! LOL, I wish I could skim through some paragraphs but I can't get myself to do so. I've always been like this, I can't skim through fiction but I have no problem skimming through non-fiction.

Jace is acting really odd, it's Sebastian controlling him though? Jace feels what Sebastian wants him to feel. Jace does what Sebastian wants him to do.

Do you think Sebastian is fully evil? I don't know, I haven't been able to label him as evil guy after City of Glass....I kinda felt like his evil days ended in City of Glass LOL, I don't even know what I'm thinking

bleh. I just can't bring myself to believe that sebastian is running Jace. I hate that sebastian is still a little flirty with Clary... just ew.

I mean their date...on the boat..when they were laying down. I just have to believe that Jace wanted that (and not Sebastian) *shudders*

I don't know about Sebastian. Although he may not be fully evil, I think he will always be selfish and want to control/run everything. I don't think he's capable of a normal relationship like a friendship. He needs to be worshipped and/or feared.

I wish his evil days ended but then he wouldn't be taking Jace and trying to lure Clary from her family.

and he's talking about running things...like he's going to be taking it over....I think he's such a psychopath he's hard to read...

but Maia and Jordon are so cute but her last words - that they have enough time together or something like that. It felt so much like famous last words! I fear one of them will not make it to the end of this book.

but Isabelle was so cute with Simon. I'm so glad she finally let down her guard a little and asked him to come over where she was. :) she needs to let him in.

I finished it 2 hrs ago! Sorry for not posting, haven't had much time to be on GR due to real life!!

What a ride. LOL! This was pretty boring at times and I felt like 200 pages were unnecessary descriptions and only 300 had good plot. uhm, the ending is an incredibly poor excuse for a 6th book.... apparently he has that heavenly fire inside him or something because of when she stabbed him... and now they have to figure that out what??
oh well I'll end up reading the last one when it's out next year, just to get a proper closure on all of this. Especially Magnus and Alec :( and they LOST Sebastian AGAIN. geeez.

And omg Maureen, Camille?!?! I so didnt see that one coming

I like how Isabel has grown though. She's really trying to learn to lead on Simon, and Simon deserves someone to really love him, ya know? I just hope he puts Clary in the "friend" or even "sister" category.

Just finished the book last night. Not really impressed that I have to wait until 2014 for the sixth book to be released. It was a 3.5-4/5 read in my opinion.

Didn't see this before now, yeah I'll most likely read the last book to get a closure on everything. 5 books read so can't give up now!
