There isn't any way to sort or search for the free ebooks but GoodReads gets them from FeedBooks. I've found alot of short stories & other ebooks here that have been very interesting & you can sort by most recent or most popular.

And a note to thank Sharon for her link. I found the second novel I listed here on your link, and then went to the author's website to see if book 1 was also available and it was plus the short stories. Ther are 1,755 free ebooks that GRs link.
I'm sure it will come as no surprise that all the websites I've bookmarked feature erotica, usually m/m. Sorry, can't help it. I'm relying on the rest of you to post more pedestrian sites :)
