"Eponine's not here, Emma. I won't utter a single word about this conversation to anyone else but you. Please, Emma. Tell me", William said.

Emma's hands trembled in front of her as she thought about what she wanted to say, "I...." she cleared her throat and pressed her hands over her heart, "I....I love you." She said, then flinched and turned her head away as if she were preparing to be smacked across the cheek, "But...you and Eponine....I didn't want to tell you.... I'm sorry."
William wasn't surprised, but he still paused for a moment. "Emma. I want you to understand something, okay? I love Eponine. I love you too, but as a close sister, Emma. Don't be scared to tell me what you're thinking. I could never be mad at you. There's nothing to be sorry for either.", he said.
"We know next to nothing, actually," Jamie said to Eponine. "What you see here is all the knowledge we have on this new group."
Emma felt something snap inside of her, like a rope finally giving out on it's last thread. An angry warmth started filling her veins, making her fists clench. It was as if she had suddenly gone on autopilot because the feeling she was currently being filled with was forigen sensation. She suddenly felt like she could do anything, and had the power to crush anything in her way. Her lips parted and she took in an audible breath, her hands pressed against the solid wall behind her, and she tasted salt very distinctly in the corner of her mouth. Emma's gentle green eyes widened in complete surprise, she was crying? Her slim fingers lifted to her face and she brushed the pads of her fingers over the trail the tear had left. What was happening? She had gone from shy, to apologetic, to angry, and now she was sad? "Is this what it's like?'" She asked out loud, not meaning to do so, "Is this what a broken heart feels like?"
William wiped a tear from her face gently. In the spur of the moment, he hugged her, not caring in the least of what anyone would think. He kissed her gently and said,"I'm sorry, Emma. I really am. I wish things would be different, that you wouldn't be sad. Don't hold any grudges against anyone except me. It's my fault, and I'm sorry. Maybe one day, but not right now, Emma"
Emma slowly lifted her arms and loosely held onto William's shirt as he hugged her. She had no more to say because nothing came to mind. She simply stood against William, unsure of what to do. It was all so new, and she didn't know whether yo savour the moment, or become angry for playing hot and cold with her.
William kissed her one more time, and was shocked to have the feeling that it felt impossibly right. But what about Eponine?', he thought to himself. It felt right, but... no. He couldn't. He stepped away from Emma. "I'm sorry for my ungentlemanly behaviour. Tell the others I'll be back in an hour", he said softly. With that, he left the command room, his head filled with contradicting thoughts.
Emma nodded to him, letting him know he was forgiven, "I'll make an excuse for you." she reassured him, then watched him leave. Emma blanked and face forward again, then ran the tip of her tounge over her bottom lip. It was almost as if she could still taste the presence of his lips on hers. She realzed then thats he needed to get back into the room, and took a deep breath to calm heself, then opened the door.
"William told me he needed to go and do something that he had forgotten abut, but said he would try to be back in an hour." she told them all innocently. It was a complete lie, but she had feeling that there was some truth behind it.
Eponine didn't believe Emma. She trusted Emma, but she knew she was lying. She pushed away from the table, not making an excuse, not bothering. They all knew where she was going. She slipped out of the room, going after William. He never did this, something was wrong, and she needed to find out what. She looked back at the people in the room once, her comrades, she knew she was being selfish, but she didn't turn around. She saw William's retreating form and ran to catch up with him.
"Wait!" Emma called, stretching her hand out to stop Eponine, but just barely brush her shoulder, 'Eponine! Please, I-I think he needs to be alone w-with his own thoughts." she called, "Come back Eponine."Emma had one foot on the command room, and she glanced at everyone else, then back at Eponine. She oculd never catch Eponine, but she knew it wouldn't help William.
Henrietta looked around, feeling uncomfortable in the silence. She hated the tense feeling int he air. She hated the sad look in everyone's eyes. She swallowed a gulp of air and cleared her throat."So," she started, not knowing exactly what to say. "Where do we go from here?"
Jamie, who had been asking herself that same question, said, "Like I said before, I'll send some guys out, see what they can learn." She sighed. "Other than that, I don't know. Any way you can get some info from the hacking attempt?" she asked, not really expecting the answer she was hoping for.
William entered the command room, a mask of professionalism slipping on his face. "Sorry for abandoning you. Anything I miss?", he asked.
"S'okay," Jamie said, watching him carefully. William was never one to just walk out without reason. "You haven't missed much. We're just discussing what we should do next," she explained.
Eponine slid back inside, working hard to keep her eyes from Will, because each time she did, she would start to blush like crazy, and she couldn't risk that, not yet anyway. She slid back into her seat, looking again at the USSR symbol sitting before her, a tinge of fear passing over her. What did it mean, could they even still be alive?
"Perhaps, on a slight whim, they would be willing to....cooperate." Emma suggested carefully. In a 3 player game, it was 2 against 1 on all sides, which is what made it so challenging. Abrova was like the mediator who constantly changed the rules and threw curve balls. It was possible that they could join with this new group and punch Abrova in the jaw and gut at the same time.
"Maybe," Henrietta said. "But it's definitely a long shot. They did after all just hack our system. Quite dramatically, I might add." She sat back in her chair and looked up at the others in the room.
"But we have no way of contacting them," Jamie said. "Meaning we have no way of knowing if they would be willing to cooperate."
"We do have a way of contacting them, though. I was out the other day, ran into a couple of...shady figures, waited until they thought I was gone, and then followed them. They went underground, one of them flashed a tattoo, it slipped my mind before now...I think I know where they're base is," Eponine said softly, still not looking up, curling up in her chair like a cat, or the sneak she was.
Jamie blinked, mind jumping forward. If they knew where the base was, they could try talking to them. Or they could send out some spies. "So you'd be able to find it again?" she asked.
William thought for a moment. "We'd have to be careful. They might be patrolling that area for a reason, and it might be a trap", he said, studying the symbol.
"It might be," Jamie agreed. "But I think this is too good of a chance to not take," she said. She looked around the table, seeing if anybody else had an opinion to throw in.
"I...I can find it again, but not from here, I would need to find my place in the market first. Only one or two of us would be able to go. We shouldn't bring weapons..." she trailed off. She was nervous. New enemies, they kept saying. How did they know who's side they were on. She sighed, her eyes flicking up to Will's. "I think it's your call on this one."
"Fine. Henrietta or me can go. Emma, no offense, but you are a horrible liar. And we need Jamie here to help coordinate it. Jim would stand out immediately", William said.
Jamie nodded in agreement. She herself wanted to go, but she knew she would be more help behind the scenes on this one.
Once again, Emma felt swept into the corner, but obviously her reaction didn't confess so. So it was back to her office, waiting for someone to get hurt so she had someone to talk to."I think Jamie and William should go." She said , serious. The task at hand was her motive for now, not her personal feelings. "Both personalities are a good type for the mission, you both are covert, and can mow down any trouble in your way. The only problem would be that neither of you know the location that Eponine knows..."
Would a three man squad be too conspicuous? Four was way too many, but Jamie really needed to go, based on her skills and rank.
"Or maybe Eponine and Jamie?" Emma suggested, weighing the options.
"Jamie, do you have any of those comms we took from from those Abrova soldiers? Maybe we could use those...?",William said thoughtfully. "Then Eponine could tell Jamie and I if we went."
"I can hold my own, you know. I'm the least likely of you to provoke a fight, well, except for Emma. She's the most peaceful off all of us, and I'm the best at navigating the streets if something does go wrong and we have to make a quick getaway," Eponine said softly, not really much for arguing. If the shot her down, she would stay silent, but she should be on this mission, at the very least.
"Fine. Eponine, you can go. Who wants to go with her?", William said with resignation. He looked at Eponine, his facial expression telling her everything he wouldn't dare say out loud here.
He didn't want her to go, that much was obvious in the way he was looking at her, but she had to go. She was the only one who knew the way, and the only one who had interacted with one of these people, though she wouldn't acknowledge that here. They knew her face, and they knew she was on their side. She had done more than see their base. She had been inside it when hiding from Abrova soldiers who caught her spying on them.
William looked away, turning his gaze to the ground. She was determined to go, and he couldn't stop her. Millions of outcomes of how the situation could turn out passed through his mind, and 95% of them he didn't like at all.
Having withdrawn from the conversation, Henrietta turned back to them and cleared her throat. If no one else was gonna say anything, she may as well. Besides there were some things no one else would say what needed to be said."I vote Jamie. Cause I sure as hell don't want to and Will," Here comes the stinger. "I seriously doubt your ability to stay objective."

She honestly felt bad, she really did like all of her co-rebels. She hated being the parent. But the unfortunate truth was that someone needed to be rational. And, like always, she was that someone.
Emma looked over at Henrietta and gave her a small, greatful smile for being the adult and saying something. Jim tapped Emma's shoulder, then whispered in her ear. Emma immediately shook her head and told him, "No, that wouldn't work."
((Got incredibly busy. Doing a college visit. Sorry I haven't been active lately.))
Jamie looked around at the people sitting at the table. She was kind of surprised they wanted her to go, but it did make sense. She looked at Will briefly, trying to figure out what he thought about the idea, but all she could see on it was his worry for Eponine.
When she heard Emma speak to Jim, she turned to face her. "What wouldn't work?" she asked half out of curiosity and half to give Will more time to think.

"He says that I should go. He seems to think that my...well...less threatening aura would help to eliminate suspicion." she explained, then shook her head, "But I wouldn't make it out alive." she sighed, shaking her head disappointedly.
((I just did some college visits! Where'd you go? Did you like it?))Henrietta scoffed. "Tush!" she said dramatically. "You'd be fine. You're far more capable then you think." she said, encouragingly. "Besides, he has a point. No one would suspect anything from you. No offense, of course."
She looked up to see the opinion of everyone else int he room.
((Harvard, actually. It was beautiful and I loved it. Now I just need to be lucky enough to get in *sigh*))
Jamie nodded thoughtfully. "It's actually not a bad idea," she said slowly, thinking it through. "I'd be able to communicate with you the whole time through the ear comms, as would William. Plus neither of you look particularly threatening, but I know you can handle yourselves quite well."

Eponine bit her lip. She trusted Emma, but would a secret this big be safe in her hands. She knew to much, was too good at figuring things out. She would know Eponine had connections in their base. Thing could get quickly out of hand, why had she even offered up the information she had? Because I wanted to impress Will, seem like I could be an asset, show him I wasn't scared and was smart...
((Ooh Harvard! I'm not that ambitious, or that smart, I visited Wooster and Beloit and Bennington. Good luck though, I'm sure you'll get in))Henrietta clapped her hands together. Anxiety wanted this settled. Besides, she figured if both girls went on the together, maybe it would clear things up around the base. Risking lives typically brought people closer.
"Well,"she said definitively. "Any objections?" She made eye contact with everyone, daring them to speak.
Eponine closed her eyes, taking a few deep breaths to try and not freak out. Just agree too it. No objections, keep your mouth shut and do not go into anxiety mode. No anxiety attacks to day. No crying, no hyperventilating, breathe.
((Thanks, but I doubt I'll get in. Definitely going to apply, though.))
Jamie looked over in time to see Eponine on the verge of a breakdown. She watched for a moment as Eponine tried to fight it back. She had no idea what was going on in Eponine's head, but Jamie decided to let her deal with it on her own.
Trying to keep the attention away from Eponine, Jamie addressed Henrietta. "I've already said I like the idea, Kink, but maybe we should hear Emma or William's opinion on the matter."

((I'm sorry!))
William shot a look at Henrietta for a brief moment. He said quietly,"I would be fine with the idea, but my only worry is Emma's ability to lie. I'm sorry Emma, but you're not exactly a brilliant liar and you have a tell that's rather obvious."

Emma opened her mouth to defend herself, but no sound came out to her dismay."YO!" Ink suted as he bardged into the room as if entering a party, "HOw come no one told me what's up?" he asked, a grin as he strutted in the room, slapping William's butt as he waltzed past him and strolled around the table.
"I thought all of you knew that it hurts my feelings when I'm not invited to important meetings." he pouted, looking around the room, and realized that he had just intterupted a very tense and critical moment. However, being him, he smoothed over the situation by physically rubbing his hands together as if shaping clay into a ball.
"Cool, now that I'm here, I'm sure I can assist with my ex-per-teeeeeeeeze." he told them with a happy and excited nod of his head. Yet on the inside, he new that he wasn't invited on his own accord and for a simple reason: he hadn't been there.
His two jobs took a lot of time, and the more unpleasant job wasn't on his watch. His body still stung, particularly his back and arms, and he seemed to loo very worn out. Evidence of such was the weak and wobbling knees (he was leaning off his bad one), and dar circles, and the way he breathed in through his mouth and out his nose.
