"Well you see when you look beautiful to men they don't respect you. Not as you wish to be. He treated me like his equal for the most part
Ryan nodded "that sounds like him." He smiled "but I'm sure he talked to you because you're so pretty." He blushed once he realized what he said "ah! I-i mean...!" He rubbed his neck awkwardly.
She giggled and blushed,"thank you. That's kind of you to say "she said
He was still blushing. "you don't have to thank me for speaking the truth." He murmured.
"Thank you for ring respectful about it though. I appreciate that. Whoever you care about would be lucky to have a man like you"
He looked away, embarrassed. "th-thank you. That very sweet." He hadn't ever reallythought about caring for woman. He wondered what it was like.
"Is there a women?"she Asher curiously
"no... No there isn't a woman." His cheeks grew hot. "actually, there never really been a woman. I'm not exactly popular among the female gender."
Ryan nodded "why do you seem so surprised?" He asked.
"if you keep saying these things, my face is going to catch fire." He muttered, looking away from her. "I'm not amazing. I'm just me."
She reached over and took his hand," and your own personality is beautiful
He looked at his hand then at her "you really think so...?"
He gave her hand a soft squeeze, smiling gently. "thank you. That is very kind."
He ran his thumb over the back of her hand "i can see why Ruark loves you."
He laughed "I know i know."
She squeezes his hand,"James is still asleep, can we step outside for a minute?
He nodded "of course." Ryan stood up, helping her out of her chair. He was normally quiet and calm but something about Anna just made him... Happy.
She led him out," it's so nice here" she said looking upAt him feeling confused. Was it right to be getting do close to a man neither her husband nor her lover?
"it is." He agreed, looking up at the clear blue sky.
He nodded "its pretty much my home." He smiled down at her, his silver eyes glistening brightly in the early morning sun."
"Oh, looks like it likes you too"she smiled pointing to a spider on his shoulder
He looked at it, jumping before remembering and was there he let the spider onto his hand and put it on a tree "there ya go... Little fella..." He chuckled nervously.
"Do they scare you?"she asked raising her eyebrows
He blushed. "no! Of course not!" He looked away.
"they're creepy! And some of them can kill you and i hate how they just crawl around!" He tried to defend, still blushing madly.
She burst out laughing," that's so cute!@
"i-i'm not cute...!" He looked away from her, trying to hide his blush.
She moved closer gently turning his face towards her," very cute" she said softly
He looked at her. Seeing her so close made his heart suddenly skip a beat. "but your cuter." He murmured back, slowly leaning in closer to her.
She blushed and without thinking kissed him
Ryan had surged forward to kiss her at the same moment, their lips meeting in a soft but deep display of passion. Just as his eyes began to close they shot open in realization. Ryan quickly pulled away "I'm so sorry, i..." He looked down.
"That was my fault"she pulled back shakin her was,"I should've have-I'm so sorry..."
"no, its my fault. I kissed you." He shook his head "you are with Ruark, i shouldn't have even thought of you in that way." Ryan looked at her. "i apologize deeply."
Ryan sighed "maybe it was both of our faults..." He muttered. "why don't just pretend it didn't happen?"
She but her lip but nodded looking down
Ryan notice her look down "you don't... want to forget it?" he asked softly.
"No"she whispered,"I know I should but I don't....."
Ryan sighed and stepped closer to her. "Anna... you love Ruark."
"But do I really?ryan the more I talk to you the more I doubts it. Was it because I cared for him or because he treated me well?better then I ever have been?i can't say I have no feelings for him but...?"
He shook his head " You love him. I know you do. You barely know me and he saved you from being with a man you hate." He tried to reason. He couldn't say he didn't love being wanted by a woman but he couldn't betray his brother like this.
"Sadly I know more about you then I did about him"she mummered looking away as she visibly forced herself toPull away,@im sorry for this, I know I should
