He shook his head "I'm fine. Besides, i should stay up and make sure you guts are safe from soldiers and wild animals." He told her. Ryan looked at James "but I'm sureyyou're tired, huh?"
"I'm sorry bud. But maybe you can sleep with Anna." He smiled "she is your new mommy, right?"
She shot him a look as James shook his head,"my friend. "
"oh." He nodded "well, why don't you sleep with your friend" he sent Anna an apologetic look.
"so? Big boys like sleeping with girls. You're not a big boy?" Ryan rose an eyebrow.
"Well yes...... but she's got a chubby chest!!ot will poke me in my sleep"Ana choughed to cover her laugh,@ill try my best not to"
"can I sleep beside you and you sleep by he so technically I'm

Ryan laughed "maybe we should squish you between me and Anna's chubby chest." He teased.
"oh, stop that." Ryan got up and picked James up, slinging him over his shoulder playfully. "fine, well do it your way." He stopped and looked at Anna "i mean, if that's alright with you."
She bit her lip hesitantly but nodded,"it's alright
Ryan nodded and took James to the bedroom. He put him in the bed and tucked him in.
"James, let go. I'll come to bed in a little bit." Ryan tried to get James to let go of him.
Ryan sighed "airtight, alright." He kicked off his shoes and laid beside James "better?"
He nodded grabbing Ana's hand at the same time As his shirt forcing her beside Ryan," when will daddy come back?"" soon kiddo"
Ryan held James close "you're dad is tough. He'll be home before you know it." He ruffled his hair. "now get some sleep."
He nodded closing his eyes as Ana sighed," how can you be so sure?"she whispered so he wouldn't listen
"because i know Ruark... And because he has to." He whispered to her. "you should get some rest too." He told Anna.
" I can't" she whispered," kashburn likes challenges and Ruark took away the challenge. I'm very worried
To comfort her, Ryan put his few arm around her "he will be fine. You should know that."
" I can't though. He's all alone Ryan and that's awful
"Ruark is most likely thinking about you right now. He will get out of that castle just to come back to you." He held her close. "he will come home."
"he will." He said firmly. "now get some sleep."
"just stop thinking about him being gone. Think about good things about Ruark." Ryan said.
" he was a cheeky one. Good or appropriate good?"
Ryan chuckled "whatever made you fall for him."
She thought about it and frowned,"I don't know, he talked to me but that doesn't seen like a goo reason.....
"maybe it was because he treated you like a person, not a woman."
She nodded," he was different then everyone else.
"he normally is." He chuckled. "can you sleep now?" He asked softly
"my pleasure." He smiled gently at her.
She closer her eyes falling asleep on his chest
Ryan sighed. Ruark was a lucky man to get such a stunning woman both in beauty and mind. he staid away, relaxing as he heard James and Anna's slow, steady breathing drift through the night air.
Ana was up before them next morning she had picked berries she knew were edible and cleaned herself with water from a lake close by abd now tidied things quietly so they could sleep
Ryan didn't know when he had fell asleep but when he woke up, Anna was gone. He frowned and got out of bed, making sure not to wake up James. He walked out of the bedroom and found Anna. "what are you doing up so early?" He asked.
"Cleaning"she replied thin her wet hair up in a ponytail,"go eat something I heard your stomach growl when I woke up you need it
"I'm fine." He told her simply. He began to help her clean.
"Eat or I wil tie you down and make you"she toldHim
Stubbornly,"I'd prefer you not passing out of hunger
"I'm not so weak as to pad out from something like that." He chuckled, ignoring her first comment as he continued to clean.
She took the cloth away from him,"your ruarks brother. The least I can do is make sure your well fed Ryan. "
Ryan sighed "alright. If it will make you happy." He went and grabbed a piece of raw deer meat, about to eat it.
She grabbed it out of his hands and shot him a look," you knew it was uncooked, it doesn't even looked cooked
