He frowned "i do? Well, she's a regular costumer's daughter so i watch her sometimes." He smiled at Emma "she calls me angel because I'm blonde." He chuckled
"She's so cute.......do you have the hots for her mum???"
"no! I told you, i love jade!" He glared.
Emma hopped onto his lap with one of the books"James you have always been one of the kindest people I know. You empitize with everyone. Maybe that why the minors around. But you don't need to keep her with you to keep her safe from her father big brother.there are other ways
"no. I have to protect her from everyone. Everyone tries to hurt her." He shook his head "if this is how you're going to act, please, leave." He opened the book and began reading to her.

He shrugged and continued reading.

He ignored her, though his face turned slightly red from anger as he kept reading.
He sent a glare her way.
"Stella, I'm not leaving her. I'm staying with her until she tells me to go. I told you already, i love her." He said once Emma had fallen asleep.
"But she's a minor!arenypu sure you love he James?"
"yes, Stella, i am." He sighed "you'll meet her later if you decide to stay."

"i don't care if i get hurt, Stella. I just have to protect her!" He helped a customer find a book they wanted, carrying a sleeping Emma.
And sighed,"she's so cute, where is her mom?"
He frowned, taking Emma from Stella after checking the customer out "she's at another meeting."
"Your really protective of this little girl"she mummered surprised
"yeah, well, i care about her." He muttered.
"Too much"she mummered we her mom came in,"I am so sorry James!"Stella looke confused
He smiled "its really alright. There are a few books she wanted on the counter. The ones i got for her are already in the bag so don't worry about those." He led her to the counter "she was a little sweet heart like always."
"Thank you James and let me pay for those!!!youve done so much already!"
"No, its alright really."he laughed "i was glad to watch Emma." He carried Emma out to her mother's car after she paid for the other books. He helped put the bags in the car and put Emma in her car seat, buckling her in. "I'll see you again tomorrow. Alright, sweety?" He smiled and kissed her forehead.
"No go!!"she cried holding James finger since his hand was too big for hers
James held her hand "I'll see you again tomorrow. Then we can have lots more fun." He smiled. "this isn't goodbye, i promise."
She handed him a paper with scribbles on it and smudged icing,"bwithdtay"she said.she had heard Stella "It's your birthday???"
He smiled softly "thank you." He said, taking the paper. He nodded "yes, it is."
"Happy birthday!!!"shr smiled,"how old are you now?id I may ask"
"twenty-six." He smiled.
"Wow, we're the same age"he looked surprised,"you don't look you age James
"i know, I've been told I'm old." He sighed.
"I meant young"she laughed,"is it your girl friend inside waiting for you? You two can join us for dinner. As a celebration?@
"no, she's my sister. My girlfriend is a but younger than her. I'm very thankful for the offerbut I'll have to decline. " he smiled apologetically.
He waved bye to Emma one more time before going inside.
And was promptly ignored by her older brother. James sat behind the counter.
He ignored her, doing paperwork for new book orders.
