Ok, copied info to my travel folder and will impress my wife by knowing this. thanks.

YouKneeK | 1412 comments I’d just like to say you all did a great job of voting in April’s books. You picked two books I’ve read previously, so I get a bonus 2 added to my count! ;) Since so much of what I read is influenced by the books already on the group shelf, it’s pretty rare for books to get voted in after I’ve read them.

The 31-book series I’m almost done reading (2 left!) has slowed down my progress on the group shelf, so this will help a little. I’m currently at 157, not yet counting April's books since it isn't April.

Lost Planet Airman | 766 comments Apparently, March 4th The Stars My Destination pushed me over the edge and I have now completed 200 of the 303 books on the club Bookshelf!

No offense, but if the prizes involve any vegetable not yet converted to alcohol, just don't tell me...

Anna (vegfic) | 10435 comments I do have some spinach that's probably fermenting at this point, since I forgot to use it, so you might be in luck!

Lost Planet Airman | 766 comments Hard pass, I just cleaned out the crisper drawer in the refrigerator last night, and couldn't identify some items. <shudder>

message 1007: by Lost Planet Airman (new)

Lost Planet Airman | 766 comments Tempting! Foxglove brandy in an old radiator?

(I have long said "although the early bird gets the worm, the second mouse gets the cheese".)

message 1012: by Coralie (new)

Coralie | 106 comments I am up to 285, counting April's. Whether I make the 300 this year will depend on which books are chosen in the coming months. None of the remaining books on the bookshelf are in my library, and my library has closed anyway.

I'm up to 90 and confident of hitting 150 by years end so long as I

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) I'm up to 72 now.

In the next few months I might finish these:
Blackout
Cat's Cradle
Dune
The Ocean at the End of the Lane

message 1022: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahtkv) | 59 comments I've read 49. I will definitely try and get a few more in over the next few months.

message 1023: by [deleted user] (new)

Just joined the group today and looking through the Bookshelf I've read 26 books so far, and my TBR list is going to explode now, LOL.

message 1024: by Camilla (new)

Camilla Hjertø | 34 comments If I've counted correctly, I've only read 19, including the three I've read after recently joining this group. So I've got an ocean of great books to check out, and I'm looking forward to it. :) Actually, I have a 27 of them on my to-read/ currently reading list already, and I know I'll find more.

Hey, @Richard, that doesn't seem to be on the Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Club bookshelf! Did you get lost on the way over here? ;-P

message 1030: by Gabi (last edited Jun 29, 2020 11:35PM) (new)

Gabi | 3441 comments With end of June I reached 50% (155/309). Now I have to keep up with the monthly reads to stay on that level (and slowly creep towards 75% ;D)

message 1031: by Soo (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 1007 comments I like that I'm making progress without trying. lol

Last counted in February and was at 112.
Currently at 121 Books. 121 is a cool number.

message 1032: by Coralie (new)

Coralie | 106 comments I am currently at 290 so I should be able to manage 300 by the end of the year, particularly as I've already read one of the July books.

message 1033: by Soo (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 1007 comments Woah. That's awesome! Nice work, Coralie.

message 1034: by Gabi (new)

Gabi | 3441 comments Wow, Coralie, you rock!

Soo, your next goal is 211.

message 1035: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina | 375 comments Impressive, almost 300 that's access to a pretty exclusive, luxurious chamber in our clubhouse! I'm thinking at least whirlpool with crystal champagne-glasses ;-)

Myself, I'm making slow and steady process. Now, I'm at 128, don't have a real goal, but then there are still so many books on the shelf...

message 1036: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10435 comments I have to order more champagne for the 300 room, unless Allison has made some?

message 1037: by Allison, Fairy Mod-mother (new)

Allison Hurd | 14234 comments Mod
Wow, Gabi!! You've really moved quickly through the shelf!! That's very impressive!

Haha Soo, when you read as much as you do, you're likely to bounce into a few books that other people will have read =P I agree with Gabi, now you have to get 211!

Wow, Coralie!! You're closing in on the extremely elite "100% of shelf read" group which I think only has 2-3 other people in it! That's amazing!

LOL no, no champagne. This month's batch is mead! But I agree, champagne or sparkling cider in crystal by your preferred pool sounds great!

message 1038: by Soo (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 1007 comments My reading rampage will only be for this year. I'm gonna throw my time into other things as soon as feasible. lol

Maybe I'll hit 135 by the end of the year for the SFFBC shelf. =D

message 1039: by Tamara (new)

Tamara | 271 comments I've read 23, and tried reading - did I finish? - Lian Hearn's 'Across the Nightingale Floor'. Most recently, I chose "The Secret Library" from the shelf, and really liked it. I'm currently on the second book, "The Masked City", which I like almost as much. I've also chosen "The Way of Kings" for the future, but I'm not sure that's on the shelf, although the author gets discussed a lot around here.. I hadn't wanted to go near any other of his books (than the "Skyward" series I'm in the process of and like), due to the apparent violence in them. But the Sci-Fi and Fantasy week lists/recommendations got me interested in this one. I guess I'll see what happens if I can find a copy. I also tried "Gods of Jade and Shadow" from the shelf, and liked it partly and disliked it partly.
I noticed there's one Diana Wynne Jones book on the shelf - she's one of my favourite authors, and it would be good to have a couple of her others in future monthly reads - my favourites are 'The Power of Three' (children's/family), and "Fire and Hemlock" (YA).

message 1040: by Gabi (new)

Gabi | 3441 comments @Tamara: "Way of Kings" is on the group shelf.

message 1041: by ~ Giulia ~ (new)

~ Giulia ~ | 146 comments Last year I was at 78/285 = 27.37% total (20.14% of the sci-fi shelf, 34.75% of the fantasy shelf)
Now:
91/309 = 29.45% total
38/156 = 24.36% of the sci-fi shelf
53/153 = 34.64% of the fantasy shelf
DNF: 1

I've fallen a bit behind on my fantasy reading, but I've improved my overall total.
I'll try to get to the 100 mark by the end of 2020. Must. Get. The. Chocolate!

message 1042: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10435 comments You can do it! We'll stock up the chocolate room in December!

message 1043: by Gabi (new)

Gabi | 3441 comments Slowly creeping onwards, I'm at 52% now.

In July I finished 5 more books from the group shelf and could mark "Dreamsnake", which I've already read.
Among those I had the pleasure to read the fantastic "Memory Police" (5 stars) with the group and experience some nostalgic and what-am-I-reading? moments with the slightly messed up "The many-coloured land" (2 stars)
