Maggie (maggietoussaint) | 4 comments I tend to buy more ebooks than print books these days because its so easy to pop my reader in my purse and have it for down time. I purchase print books still, although more sparingly. My bookshelves are packed and I don't want to get rid of any of my "keepers."

Bottom line: I love reading.

Robin Sampson (heartofwisdom) I love real books so much I had to purge my house of over 10,000 of them. I could not walk in some rooms! I had to use an e-reader or get another house for storage.

So I read both e-books and real books:

~ Reference: I have an extensive real book library, however, I bought the e-book version of some just so I can copy and paste quotes with citations (super neat for authors).

~ Bed Reading: I am more comfortable with Kindle for PC that my hand held Kindle for bedtime. I have my computer on a TB tray that slides the computer over the edge of my bed and can read very well before going to sleep. (due to eye surgery I no longer need glasses to read the computer distance but need reading glasses for a book distance).

~ Car Reading: I read a lot in the car so I love the Kindle for it.

~ Plane Travel: Now that you have to pay for carry on and extra suitcases it makes MUCH more sense to use an ereader over brining a dozen books.

~ Stationary Bike Reading: where I park my Kindle.

~ Bath or Pool Reading: Only read paperbacks. I have a LOT of books with water stained corners. I tried the Kindle with a baggie over it and did not like it.

~ Read Aloud: I read to my children daily. At times I use the audio version with Kindle for them to follow along to help them read faster. Last week I bought the e-book "Sign of the Beaver" because we lost our paper back (somewhere in the stacks) and wanted to finish the book. INSTANT GRADIFICATION for $3.99 so worth it!

I have used my Kindle so long that when I read a paper book I "click" on a word I want to look up in the dictionary--does not work. :(

Patricia, some say there will eventually be no paper options. There is a film called "Out of Print" about the imminent death of the written word in print books and the industry. outofprintthemovie.com/

Megan (clark-kent) | 9 comments For aaages I hated the idea of having an ereader - real books are just so great, how could a little lump of wires and plastic be any better? But then I got a kobo and I love it. Its so easy and stores tons of stuff... plus I can have games on it too ;)
I still prefer to read actual real books, and all the books I like on my Kobo I'll buy for my real life bookshelf, but I don't wanna give up my ebooks now :)
I just have to say, don't knock it till you try it.

I have a kindle paperweight also, and a kindle fire and the kindle fire is used more for apps and watching movies on the go than reading, I love being able to read at night and not keep my hubby awake.

Depending on what kind of ereader you have they more than likely have you sign up and have an account with them and guess what? Once you do they all seem to have some way to remember your books so that in case your ereader broke you don't loose all your books. I know that amazon does and they store it in what they call the cloud and you can go into your account on there and have books sent to multiple devices and also you dont have to download a book until you are actually ready to read it.

Nancym (nancym1031) | 15 comments The books that I love the best are from the library. They are free and I don't have to keep them.

Jolene (klyoptarice) | 15 comments I just love books. I love to hold them in my hands, turn the pages... The smell of books... And readin on an e-reader makes my head ache. I just read the traditional way, for some reason it means so much more. Can't really explain the feeling...

Jolene (klyoptarice) | 15 comments BUT.. Must be honest, most of the books I want to read aren't available in my country yet, so I have to read them as E-book...

Robin Mahle (robinmahle) | 26 comments I never thought I would like ereaders, until I got my kindle. As much as I love browsing the book stores, I just don't have that much time. Except when I take the kids, but then we're always in the kid book section:)

Now, I can just download a book in a few seconds and start reading right away! I'll never be without my kindle!

Lovelyn Bettison (lovelyn_bettison) | 13 comments I read both ebooks and real books. I have a Kobo and I really like it. It's easy to use and extremely convenient. I keep it in my purse and can pull it out anytime I need something to read. I also tend to read a lot on my computer. That's not so kind on the eyes, but it's a habit I've gotten into. As time passes I find myself reading fewer and fewer regular books. It's mostly ebooks for me, but occasionally there is something I can't get in an e-format that I really want to read.

Adrianne Padilla (kirliedew) | 4 comments I love both. I purchased my nook because I ran out of space for all my books. I work weird hours so trying to get to a library is difficult. Even going to a book store takes some juggling. With my nook I can check out library books at 4am if I want. My fiance is sensitive to light and often is in bed before me so I always had to use book lights. I hate book lights they never work the way I need them to. My nook lets me read without having to fiddle with any lights and waking up others. I haves thousands to choose from at anytime. Also, I have owned 3 different nooks and had one that drowned. I have never lost any books and between b&n's cloud, device memory, and memory cards, I have more space than I will ever use. If I really love a book I buy a physical version so I can feel it, smell it, lend it, have it signed, and keep it for my future children to read one day.

✿.Ⓐⓟⓞⓞⓡⓥⓐ.✿ (apoorvak) I only read real books. I love the smell and the feel of the pages, and also they are more enjoyable to collect, if you are buying them.

Ashish Seth | 4 comments Ebooks are beaten on many levels when faced by encyclopedia like britannica. Real book encyclopedia have the size, gloss on the pages, their hard cover covered with cloth or better, the letter on the pages are carved such elegance that no e-reader could imitate them. I always jump in the library to find such encyclopedias.
