The book is such a great read but the movie..um...well..sucked..nope that isn't a good enough word for it...help.
Personally I liked the book better...because...don't laugh...it had the author's magic in it somehow.
I think the problem with the movie was that they were trying to take the books, which was shown in a serious perspective, and tried to make it a light-hearted family movie. The only character that was even close to his book counterpart was Boone.
I adore this book and agree with Anna about the author's magic. I have to be honest and say I liked the film too. I thought it was a good adaptation of the book. Different but in keeping with the sentiment. However I watched it a long time ago so perhaps I'm not remembering it correctly.
