Don't make guns available to just anyone. Certain guns for farmers, certain for policemen, certain for the military, and EVERYONE should have to register the gun that they have.

And if they did, they would be registered, so if they did something wrong you could track them down by their gun!

Your right, and it might be hard to get rid of guns. But to do things like that, it would be a GREAT thing to would be get LESS guns!

I have no clue what your saying

I agree. But it's not as tragic as, say, five little girls getting killed

TRUE...but more painful w/o

but i still think we have every Rights to keep a gun...but not for those with mental issues.

The gun makes noise and can kill quickly if the person using it aims right, but if you take those away and someone decides they need to take such action, what is to precent them from turning to pioson or releasing a toxic gas into a ventilation system...Guns aren't the only way, but they are available so people make use of them.
If we want to stop such things from happening then perhaps we should reexamine our society and look for trends within the society that are seem to lead to an increased probability of such events occuring. Violent crime is higher in the US than most countries, there are lots of theories about why, but no body seems to want to attempt a long term solution. People embrace knee-jerk reactions that are geared toward short term soloutions.
If you take away guns without addressing the aspects of society/culture that are contributing to these events, rather than solving the problem it will manifest itself again in a new form, perhaps even worse than before.

No, I don't think we would be better off without guns. On the contrary, crime would escalate like crazy. It would be like chicago all around. Guns allow us to protect ourselves. If those teachers had been armed, you know how many kids would have died? Probably none. You may noy be for guns, but the first thing you are going to do if someone breaks into your house and poses a very dangerous threat, you are going to call someone who DOES have a gun and pray he gets there in time. Which he probably won't.

Yes, becaus criminals are known for abiding by the law. Taking away guns will give us less protection against those who won't give theirs up who are criminal. So by all means, lets give the good guys less protection and have the bad guys have the guns because they won't give them up. How is that logically going to minimize crime? Besides, it is our right. You take one and the rest will fall like dominoes. Bad things happen. Taking guns won't do that. There was a stabbing in China of twenty kids. They have already taken guns. Most of them. So now they should ban knives? Things will happen to innocent people. Taking away the good peoples right won't stop that. It won't decrease it.

In Chicago, guns are not allowed and more people have died there due to guns by criminals than soldiers have died over the last ten years in Afghanistan. In places like Vermont where there are loose gun laws, they have the lowest death-rates and rapes.

We hear of incidents like this often in other countries often and it makes me wonder why for places that this happen often why is there no control why do things like this keep happening why has no action been taken. When I say action I don't mean the person who creates the problem to be killed on site I mean action where these incidents don't happen again.
So gun control its is very important. I'm fed up of hearing on the news that there has been another massacre. Do something about it!

Yes, that is a terrible tragity, but banning guns won't stop bad guys. Will drug addicts find drugs? Yes. Bad people will ALWAYS find a way. By banning guns, it increases the chance of bad things happening. Disarming citizens gives an advantage to the bad people. Where I live, many people have conceiled weapon permits. It is a comfort knowing if you are shopping at walmart, at least one GOOD guy has a weapon to protect others. If you were in a bank when it was being robbed, would you rather be hopeless, or know that 3 out of the 50 people there have conceiled weapons which could save your life?
