How do I mark a book as unpublished?

It was marked at published in 2012, but it hasn't been published yet, and it's unclear whether or not it even will be published. How do I mark it as not published? I took away the publication date but I don't know how to say that it wasn't published.

Unless the date is set sometime in the future, the information on a book's page will always say "published."

It looks like the description of the book already has a note stating that it's publication status is unclear, so I think it's fine as is.

Oh, I didn't even read the description because when it was coming out it had an actual description of the book. Thanks for letting me know, I feel quite foolish.
