Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Too bad your book was not a "good read" for you, Marnie, and I hope the craziness calms down for you soon.

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments Thank you Cherie- things should settle down tomorrow. I just got back from helping my daughter move into college apartment in Minneapolis. I am too damn old to hang out with a bunch of 19 year olds! My husband and son have been away too and it will be nice to get things back to " normal."

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments Thanks to the Toppler I have finished The Silver Linings Playbook- it was funny in parts and made me want to see the movie.

I added this to my TBR after seeing the trailer for the film this week. Glad you enjoyed it. I like the idea of it!

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments Sarah- I listened to this book and read parts of it. I enjoyed the book form more. Something about the way the narrator spoke made the main character seem childlike which I do not think the author intended. So I recommend reading and not listening to this book- IMHO.

That's good to know Marnie, thanks!

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments My T book was The Time Traveller's Guide to Medieval England: A Handbook for Visitors to the Fourteenth Century. I thought this was an interesting read- especially as a lover of historical fiction. I read it in small doses, as I usually do with nonfiction, but kept reading parts aloud to whoever was in the room because I found it fascinating.

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments That sounds like a fantastic book, Marnie. And you are already at U in the alphabet! Go Girl! : )

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments I'm saving my U bookUnnatural Fire for the Toppler and my V book is due back to the library soon. So I read Veiled Threats for my V book. It was a mystery set in Seattle ( which always appeals to me) about a wedding planner caught up nefarious events.

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I've read and enjoyed all the books in the Carnegie Knicaid series.

Looking forward to your thoughts on Unnatural Fire.

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments I listened to Where'd You Go, Bernadette for my W book. It was snarky and funny especially the first half.

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments I read X Marks the Scot for my X book. I thought it would be a nice steamy book perfect for reading on vacation. It was neither steamy nor romantic. Had I had another x book with me I would have dumped it. Fortunately, it was a quick read. 1 star.

message 64: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments Finished Year of Wonders which I thought was an interesting read. The most interesting part to me was how quickly society can devolve when faced with uncertainty.

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments I finished my alphabet with Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald.
I enjoyed this book and am glad to finish on a high note.

It really was a great look at society. Too bad we haven't changed much.

CONGRATULATIONS on completing the alphabet!!!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Way to go, Marnie! And you finished with some good reads too!

message 73: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments Thank You everyone! I was just looking over my alphabet and I read 13 - four star books and 5- five star books. What a great challenge. Thank you Janice!

message 74: by Neenee (new)

Neenee so many good rated books you got there. Mine was a mixed bunch.

message 75: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3267 comments Yes I got lucky Neenee but I also deviated from my original list a lot and grabbed books from everyone else's lists. I added way more to my TBR than I read but searching out books was as much fun as reading them.
