(Perhaps I should explain that link. During WWII British bomber crews got a fried egg with their evening meal if they were "flying tonight". Best seen in the movie The Dam Busters, waitresses moving down the lines of tables, asking, "Flying tonight, sir?" At a nod, the man gets a rare, rationed egg, sunny side up. Since the eggs were fried, my mates always punned "frying tonight"—which was also a popular fish’n’chip shop slogan—to ask if someone was planning anything dangerous, like breaking school bounds.
