message 110: by Liz (new)

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

She had printed the first few chapters of Midnight Sun, when she created them. She gave a few of these prints to a few close confidants. Some of them were her publicist and Rob Pattinson while he was filming twilight for perspective. Someone accidentally gave it to the wrong person. And it was leaked without Stephenie's concent. Now when she sits down to write it, she has so much anger over what had happened, what people had stolen, that she almost wants to kill off Edward. So she decided to take a hiatus...indefinetly.

She figured that since it was already leaked to torrent people, she mind as well make it available for her fans. So she then posted the chapters on her website.

Thats the story Elena no need to research.

message 114: by Elena (new)

Elena Hubner | 64 comments oh, ok great, i was wondering how that all happened. so, is she going to finish it? i mean, i think she should. but not, if she is going to kill off edward i guess.

Elena wrote: "oh, ok great, i was wondering how that all happened. so, is she going to finish it? i mean, i think she should. but not, if she is going to kill off edward i guess."

I think that, everyone making petitions, and trying to force her back to it, is only making it worse. She's so fed up with it all. The fact that everyones pressuring her, is making her want to do it even less. She has said that she'll get back to it when people stop pressuring her, or when she can go one week without hearing about it. Next thing we know, she wont have it postponed, it will be a permanent halt. :(

message 116: by Elena (new)

Elena Hubner | 64 comments have u read the draft online? oh, i hope people stop. that would be so.....not cool if we couldn't find out what edward thought.

message 117: by Elena (new)

Elena Hubner | 64 comments oh yeah, that's why u think she did it? how was the draft? was it good?!?!

message 121: by Elena (new)

Elena Hubner | 64 comments awesome! i'm gonna go read, can u just look up midnight sun and read it?

message 122: by Nadja (new)

Nadja | 12 comments Talk about new - I just read them !!
My friend lent me the film to watch with my hubby - feel in love with it and so she lent me her books on Sunday (14th June) and I finished them all by Wednesday (17th) - I just couldn't put them down - I am feeling pretty old though being a fan @ 27 LOL, then again, Edward Cullen still has 81 years on me - so I figure that's OK
I'm already re-reading them and my friend just got me the 3-disc DVD
My poor husband is now worried he'll never be "as perfect as that pretty vampire" LOL

Christa (is on top of the world!) (obsesedwbooks) | 19 comments I first read Twilight about a year ago, maybey a little over, when I was just browzing through the library for a good book to read. And I finished the first three books in the same year and talked about almost nothing else. My friends got super annoyed untill it became popular and then they were amazed and even tried to read them and catch up with me while I read the last book. Most of them liked it, however, I feel that they're not true fans and are really just into it for the films.

message 124: by Heather (new)

Heather Brunner | 2 comments I read the first twilight book about a month or so after it first came out, It's nice to say that I'm one of the fans who helped the series get to where it is today

Diddo(me too)

Christa (is on top of the world!) (obsesedwbooks) | 19 comments Don't feel bad a fan is still a fan, no matter when they started the series.

Christa (is on top of the world!) (obsesedwbooks) | 19 comments no problem! Oh and by the way, I'm not into any of those dumb posts online that have other people adding their own versions of Stephanie's story; how bout you peeplz?

Christa (is on top of the world!) (obsesedwbooks) | 19 comments twilight67 wrote: "no me neither they can't make that story better well maybe if on breaking dawn they adding a fight scene at the end. did you read vampire academy. it's really good almost better than twilight"

No I haven't yet, it's on my to read list, but it's crammed at the moment. I'm in the middle of a book called Tricsters Choice by Tamora Pierce, and it has a sequel, so I'll get to it as soon as I can.

I guess I'm an idiot for writing Fan-Fiction, but there are some really amazing ones out there, you just have to sift through the bad ones. And some of them dont rewrite anything, some of them start from other point of views, or do the backstory for the characters we know and love. I'm sorry for posting such "dumb" stuff. Who knows? Maybe I dont have feelings.

message 130: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, I just really like writing the fiction, it's a great creative outlet to work with already developed characters. It can take writers a very long time, to develop their own characters full enough to be able to write freely. So fan-fiction helps, and I have fun writing it, and some people have fun reading it. Even Stephenie Meyer reads it. She likes it. :)

message 131: by [deleted user] (new)

I started reading the series after the 4th book came out. Not knowing it was a forth book of anything, i started reading it and got halfway through untill sumbody told me it was a series. so i stop readin the book and got the 1st one then read the rest. the 4th book was awsum. yeah i new bout Twilight books at the time but dint realize it was the 4th in the series.

message 134: by Leannear24 (new)

Leannear24 i read them about a year ago
a friend of mine said that if i loved vampires than i should read them n i did (she kept complaining how slow i was at reading)
when i had read the whole series like twice i saw other people reading the first one which was weird
n another friend of mine has not long read the whole series n she loves vampiers too
i cant believe how long it has taken people to read them

message 135: by Rach (last edited Jun 20, 2009 09:48AM) (new)

Rach | 4 comments One of my teachers read it and told our class that it was good. I instantly loved the series! I love reading the whole series. I started them in October 2008.

message 136: by Helena (new)

Helena (forbiddenLURVE) About a month after the 4th one came out. My friends were crazy about it so I decided to read it.

oh i hate that too
n i hate it when u have to wait for the libery to get the book that u want

message 138: by Dameon (new)

Dameon (emberrassed) anyone know that Midnight Sun is the fifth book and Stephenie Meyers is writing it now, search it in my bookshelf or on the book search, and btw, I started reading the Twilight series this year and I am on New Moon. (I was reading the first anyways, the other books came out while I was taking my time and slowly reading Twilight xD (Laughing face))

so when all my friend would argue about who gets Edward/Jacob and started doing the whole well who read the book first? thing, I would always win :]"

Thank you...finally someone who read it way before there was all this hype about it. Major kudos to you. I read it in January of 2006 after my best friend literally chucked the book at my head and said read it lol!

message 140: by Faith (new)

Faith | 84 comments I think its great if you were able to read the series before the hype but for example in the UK it really wasn't known about much until like 6 months before the films release. I think its great in general that people are reading the series - nevermind whether it was due to the hype or a random selection :)

message 141: by [deleted user] (new)

well i understand that in some places it wasn't known about. but what im really referring to is the people who refused to read it before the movie hype and then after its out they read it and are all like "oh i love twilight so much" or "I have always loved Twilight". Ugh they make me mad.

message 142: by Faith (new)

Faith | 84 comments Yeah I see where your coming from but surely its good that they now accept Twilight is good? I'll be honest i wasn't sure if it would be my thing at first but now love it. At least they admit they were wrong - Twilight fans need to stick together.

message 143: by Leannear24 (new)

Leannear24 yhea well those type of people just go for the trend
me personaly i go with any book that contains vampires
:P

message 144: by Faith (new)

Faith | 84 comments And possibly the film has just helped the book become more popular and reach people that it wouldn't have. I think its pretty nice when we have kids come in to our library thinking its going to be rubbish and then 2 days later they rush in to talk your ear off about how great the book was.

message 145: by Leannear24 (new)

Leannear24 i think that its very funny when they do that
i am trying to get my little brother to read it
but getting him to read any book is like trying to talk to a brick wall

message 146: by Faith (new)

Faith | 84 comments I think its unfortunate that the series has become a "Trend" cos this is what happens you get a kind of us and them type of scenario. The "Real" fans and the "Fake" fans who only started liking it when it came big. I really do appreciate where you are both coming from, but surely either way its gaining popularity which is good overall for the book.

message 147: by Trinity (new)

Trinity Ivy | 4 comments i think a read Twilight just after New Moon came out. Then i read New Moon and was hooked. i mean Twilight was nice but new Moon was the turning point. o and i dont know if any body has read the host but plz do it is really really good-Trinity

message 148: by Faith (last edited Jun 23, 2009 12:50PM) (new)

Faith | 84 comments You dont know that. Who would seriously read a book just to gain popularity or to follow a trend. Sounds too much work to me lol. But seriously, if the book is as good as we all think im sure that even if that was their original intention it would soon change.

message 149: by Faith (new)

Faith | 84 comments Hi Trinity - I didn't like The Host much. It was ok but i think maybe i was still on a high from the Twilight series. I may give it another go.

I agree with you about New Moon - Twilight sets the scene and New Moon dives into the real story and emotion. I think they all work really well together
